I never got my loaner copy back, so I thought I'd pass on to you fellow recruiters (I should totally work for the Army) that Firefly is on sale at Target.com and you can get it in a packet with Serenity. I know June is approaching, so this is more for Firefly, but still.

Oh, and did anyone want to do a "Firefly for the Troops"? Lots of deployed troops out there...Lots of time that needs to be filled with distraction. Besides, what better way to say "I care"?

OOh OOh OOH I do! I do!.

Although, you can't just send it to "any soldier" anymore. I will have to be a planned effort. We will have to let the Command know that we are sending them.

Also, we will have to find out where to send and what to send :)

Count me in! I love me some military boys and girls.

One day.
One mission.
One army of Browncoats.

On June 23rd, we aim to misbehave!

Nathan doesn't know it yet, but I am his one true love! Is that weird?

CraicBean,
What was the price, where (town+state/whatever) was the Target, and was it a short duration sale or a regular item?

I just checked their site, and they list the series DVD set at $25 [kewl!], but no mention of a combo pack.

Thanks for sharing this! A Geek Buddy is down in the dumps due to some scary work stress, and hasn't had any Firefly Therapy in months (his set is out on loan). I've offered to loan him mine, but he doesn't want to inconvenience me.

If I have to, I'll physically drag him to Target myself. You've helped a worthy Browncoat.

I find myself at Target about every other week lately, checking out what DVDs they've got on sale. I was there Sunday, and Firefly was still $39.99. :( I've seen it on sale there for $19.99, but I was poor and unemployed at the time. I want to pick up an extra set just to have as a backup/loaner copy!

If (like me) you're addicted to other shows, Target - at least the ones around Austin - has Seasons 1-5 of The West Wing and Seasons 1-5 of The Gilmore Girls on sale for $22.99 each right now. Having an actual job and paycheck now, I picked up S4 & S5 of TWW, and S5 of the Gilmores. I loves me some snarky writing... :)

Oh, and they had S1 of Veronica Mars at that price, too. So I grabbed that as well. Haven't watched it yet, but I'm pacing myself.

Love the name, by the way, FutureMrsFillion, but it brings me back to the eternal question, "Would you really change your last name?"

Actually, I'm not so sure about having to let the Command know. I'll check into it and let you know. I work for them, so it shouldn't be to hard...

Ye seekers of the Target deal!! Forgive my ineptitude. The sheer excitement of finding it made me forget the details. I suck. It's okay. I am shame. So the deal is at Target.com, and it's probably only online, knowing how whacked the big T can be at times. The whole set is as posted, less than $25. Shipping is usually pretty negligible. Other great places to check - overstock.com and Wal-Mart.com I know they're the evil corporate giant trying to build big superstores in the middle of watershed areas that feed entire ecosystems, but if you're that much in need, you have to do what you have to do. Sam's, in the store had it for $17.88 a few weeks ago. It's getting to be everywhere!!! I popped into my Netflix, and lo and behold, it was a recommended view! How cool is that??!!

Well since I am in the process of regaining my maiden name - for Nathan Fillion...........yep.

I know that when we (meaning the wives group) wanted to send some things over, we had to get our Command to get the ok from whoever was in Command in Iraq. They needed to know what was coming and all.

But you let me know and I will send it!

One summer.
One mission.
One army of Browncoats.

And a bunch of Rings that make Shiny people do silly things!

Starting June 23rd, we aim to misbehave!

Nathan doesn't know it yet, but I am his one true love! Is that weird?
