I found this link on the SciFi.com boards. This is someone's rendition of the River Vs. Reavers as if she was a Jedi. Choppy but an interesting premise.

That totally doesn't surprise me at all.

Not to plug my own stuff, but my fanfic "Mythology" was all about the parallels between the Star Wars characters and the Firefly characters. Simon and River always struck me as Luke and Leia as written by Joss.

I always imagined Simon to be the lightsaber type and not River. I think she's more into hand to hand combat. If FIREFLY had lasted 5 or 7 years like BUFFY or ANGEL, I always thought Simon's big fight scene with maybe Gabriel or whoever was in charge of what happened to River to be similar to Luke's final fight between Vader/The Emperor in RETURN OF THE JEDI.

Probably obvious, but Mal always reminded me of Han Solo a little. Also, if R2 could talk I reckon he'd be somewhat along the same lines as Wash.
