I just got this from Box Office Mojo today, so I'm assuming it's fairly accurate?

They say Serenity grossed $25,514,517.

Pretty sure that's US earnings. Was around 39 million worldwide if I recall correctly.

Other people can occasionally be useful, especially as minions. I want lots of minions.

Question #6 answers your question, in a roundabout way. Serenity didn't do as well as we could have hoped for in theaters, but it's doing very well on DVD and will eventually make a profit for Universal.

is that in theaters only?
I'm not discouraged that 'Serenity' only broke even in the theaters
($38,849,097 world wide)
so long as the DVD sales have been strong,
I thought it was a good sign that 'Serenity' was one of the very first High Definition films Universal released....

I am convinced that in another year (when Joss is finished w/Wonder Woman and much further along on making Goners) they'll start thinking about a sequel

(knock on wood)
