What is with the marketing Goodies?

One thing I just dont understand about this series (aside from NEVER promoting it, airing it in order and generally Frelling things up) is why FOX has yet to release any merchandising rights. I would pay good money for a real Firefly poster, or a replica model of Serenity. With the fanbase being as fanatical as we are, its obvious to a blind duck in sand that it would sell.

Heck, if some company can sell replica Browncoats for ~$500 each (and I will be getting one, once my next three paychecks come in) then surely some coffee mugs would sell.

What about you guys? What merchandise would you like to see?

May have been the losing side. Still not convinced it was the wrong one.

I already buy everything I can get my hands on (& can afford). I would gladly buy any Serenity or Firefly related merchandise they would release.

I think Fox lost the marketing rights when they sold the movie rights to Universal...

Universal did come out with three action figures, but they didn't look very good and I don't think they sold all that well (personally I thought that the Mal and Jayne looked terrible and I was bothered that they didn't give us a River even though she was clearly THE ACTION HERO!) grrr argh.

Anyway, when Universal finally makes a sequel I hope they will then come out with a lot more stuff, because I (like you) really want a Serenity model!

If they ever do decide to go the marketing route, they should make a line of Browncoats (made with real leather, not some cheap gose). While I'm all for the do-it-yourself line of thinking, for those of us that can't, it would be nice to have your very own coat as a way of showing your pride.

P.S. - They should also make Jayne-hats. I'm not that good at crocheting, so it would be extra shiny for me.

More would be better.

Fox just recently released the Firefly Soundtrack. And now we have ipod Firefly.
I think Fox controls the rights to "Firefly" stuff. The Firefly Official Visual Companion books may be Fox stuff.

But Universal controls the rights to "Serenity" stuff. And there is a Serenity poster you can buy right from the home page of www.fireflyfans.net

There is a Serenity Model (Ornament). I ordered two from two different comic book stores.
