I have "The Movies" game, and I'm building a new Firefly episode. You can see what I've got so far here:

http://blip.tv/file/get/Wydraz-test959.wmv

It's pretty rough, and the music is just filler until I process the music I want from the series soundtrack.

As you can tell, I'm using audio from the series and re-arranging it to make new stories.

If you like this idea, and would like to see this made faster (this took me almost a week!), you can help. I need as LOTS of audio clips from the series of the BDHs speaking. They need to be clean, with no noises or background music playing.

If anyone would like to participate in this, I would be greatly honored to get this project fully underway. Perhaps we could hash out a script from the best audio clips we find.

Or, I can do this alone, and I might get it done by next year. :D

FIRESTALKER

That was pretty good for "The Movies" I know I use it also. I would help, but I have way too much on my plate at the moment. What with the Fan film, moving, and play. I'm a busy man.

I was thinking of doing this myself. Was debating between doing it in the Movies or in something else. Also wasn't sure about trying to use dialogue from the series or just have subtitles. I probably would have gone with subtitles cause i just don't have that much free time. Is it possible to model your own sets and props for the Movies? I remember some people were working on it last i checked quite a while back.

Yup, there are some new custom sets, props and costumes out there. I am using some for the new episode myself. I would love to see a Firefly set, but I have little knowledge on how to make it. But it's definitely possile. Anyway, the corridor I used a mod set, and it resembles a Firefly close enough. Here's hoping more talented fans catch on. This is a great program!

well, i might hold out till the end of the week for more responses, but a project like this needs more than just me working on it. It's going to take forever for me to get the audio, assemble a decent script, AND make the movie itself.

if someone in the future stumbles on this thread in the archives, check in with me by email if you're interested in helping even a little.

Hello GreenFaerie

Nifty piece of work. Could you elaborate on the process for me. It looks interesting. I'd love to help out on this, but I should stress I have an apple Mac, and I imagine this has been done on a PC yes?

Anyway I tell you what I can certainly help with some of the sound/music work depending on what you want. I have some audio editing/compositionsal software and have made several cd's with it.

From what I can remember though I can't record dialogue straight from the DVD to my hardrive I'd have to fashion some complex set of wiring into my mixer using a second TV and some output cables, but it can be done.

I can also help with a score when the time comes.

I should add though - I too don't have much free time so as much as I'd love to help please bear in mind it would be over a period of months.

But I love the idea of a collaboration. I'd be glad to assist in several roles from scripting to editing.

All the best

Nice of you to offer! Too bad about the Mac thing. I can record direct from DVD on my PC. What I do then is pick out single lines of dialog from the actors that are not muddled by background noise or music, and save them to individual files. "The Movies" requires WAV or OGG format, but whatever format you can capture is fine, as I can convert them.

I've already got most of the stuff from Serenity, all of Saffron, Badger and Niska's lines from elsewhere. Now I need lines from the BDHs from the rest of the episodes.

From there we can work out a script by recombining the lines.

Don't really need music, as I have the Firefly soundtrack, but if you want to conjure up some firefly-esque bits, feel free.

best to email me at wydraz@yahoo.com so we can confer more.

Thanks.
