A Browncoat friend dragged me along to Serenity back when it was in theatres, and while I did enjoy it, I forgot about it completely until my girlfriend got into the show. I saw it on sale at Amazon for $20 and had some extra money, so with her urging me, I figured "why the hell not" and bought it.

Best impulse buy I ever made.

I was originally introduced through the movie. I'm a big fan of Sci-fi, but the thing that made me have to see it was the exchange between Mal and Jayne in the previews:

Mal: Do you want to run this ship?
Jayne: Yes!
Mal: Well... you can't...

After seeing the movie I decided that I wanted to see the show that came before it, but I didn't get around to it for one reason or another. Just the other week I happened to see the Firefly DVD set on sale and picked it up right away.

Pure chance... (or fate?!?) I caught a Firefly marathon on SciFi Channel this past January. The obsession began by tracking down the BDS and BDM.

Unfortunately, I had caught Firefly for a couple of episodes when it originally aired on FOX, but it was always hardly on, because of the MLB championships, I think.. Anyway, it was long gone by December, so I never really had a chance to get hooked back then..
