When Sean dropped the F Bomb I died a little inside. He looked so cute saying it. All proper. I rewatched those outtakes 50 times.

Not to mention the cuteness was multiplied by having him lightly slap Nathan, all in good fun. They had entirely too much fun filming that movie. I love them. :)

And of course, Nathan is just the funniest man alive. I wonder how they ever got anything done with him around...

Wash: This landing is gonna get pretty interesting.
Mal: Define "interesting".
Wash: [deadpan] Oh God, oh God, we're all going to die?

Amen to that. I can't help feeling a little envious of the camaraderie they all shared on that show and the chance they had to revive it in the movie.

Loved it when Wash was warning everybody about Reaver territory - that "They just float out there sending our READING parties." Scary, huh? :)

I'm pretty sure he said "raver reading parties." Just mixed up the two words a little.

One of my favorites: Wash getting disgusted with Mal's backship driving. "You wanna fly?!...fuckin' fly!"

I found Nathan's comic timing on the Haven scene (Book front and centre on Serenity, baby Jesus etc.) amazing and thought it was great how he didn't crack up whilst saying all the various lines despite Gina, Sean and Jewel all laughing as he spoke to them - Genius!!

My ears my have been full of shampoo - but what I heard in the outtakes regarding Reaver space, Wash was supposed to say "They just float out there, sending out RAIDING parties," and he accidently came out with READING parties & everyone laughed their you-know-what's off.

Nothing quite like a Reaver moble book club to strike terror in one's heart! :)

Sounded to me like "They just float out there sending out Reav-raver-breeding parties." I know the captioning says "reading parties" but the captioning is often very wrong and he stumbles around more than just saying "reading".

I also love the "Start with the part where Jayne gets knocked out by a 90-year-old... man. With man boobs. No, man." Cracks me up every time.

I may have failed the pop-quiz on what Wash said - guess that's why I picked River as my Avatar, I'm usually in my own little self-created 'verse!

Two other funny outtakes were when Mal (what a hottie!) was dancing with Honora outside the shuttle.

In the final showdown when Zoe was sliced & diced and our good doctor Simon applied the spray-bandage (Cool Whip?) & it phitzed out - that was too cute.

I wish I'd been an actress on the show, they had so much fun!!

You sort of need to know that Summer is always perfect and yet the cast continually blame her for every mistake to appreciate this blooper the most but my favourite is Sean's reaction when she finally blows a line. She realises, knows she's in for it, and Sean does this gesture which is so "You see what we have to work with?" to the camera.

That or Alan discussing his planned one man show.... and an encore.

Summer is incredibly talented - which is amazing as she is so young. Her crew rallies around & protects her quite a bit. But she does get more than her fair share of teasing!

I think she is learning to give back a little attitude of her own - she's got moxy. Hey, she's beaten up Jayne now, that gives ya confidence. :)

She certainly deserves the Saturn Award.

ROFL. Why use all those huge and ugly swords when you can bonk someone over the head with War and Peace? That one was great.

I also loved the part when Nathan keeps dropping the screwdriver (??) Jewel throws at him and the second time he drops it, he yells "Watch out, Chad!" and everyone bursts out laughing. LOL. I love my captain. :)

Actually the one that slays me is a deleted scene, rather than an outtake...

When Mal pulls the grenade-fake, and then *snatches up the unused grenade!*... I deadpan to my girl...
"Yep, why waste a perfectly good grenade."

She completely lost it for some reason, so that scene is now and always met with howls of amusement... we're warped, I know.

One of my favorates is a Jayne line that isn't in the outtakes. Its in Safe and goes something like this.

Jayne finding and reading Simons diary " Today I was pompous and my sister was crazy. We got lost and it was the best day ever."

One of the many funny Jayne moments that had us LOAO (laughing our a.. off)

Ok, interesting point about the cast blaming Summer for mistakes she did not make. I always thought something different was going on in the gag reels, but I have no basis for this, so maybe this is a joke with a punchline I invented.

In many of the gags, something will go wrong and various folks will say "Summer". I thought this came from the natural mistake of referring to "River" as "Summer" and therefore blowing a line. It then seemed to become a codework for I just screwed up.

Again, I have no inside info for this, but this is how I have always taken it, and thought it was pretty funny.

See how I'm not punching him, I think I've grown!

Check out UK magazine SFX. They interviewed Nathan, Summer and Morena before the BDM release, and yes, any gaffe or out-take was blamed on poor Summer!

Isn't Jayne just so evil!

I think his version of the diary read something like "Today I was pompous & my sister was crazy, we were kidnapped by hill folk never to be seen again. It was the best day ever."

Janye: "It was amazing we kept him this long." :)

I liked Mal's line to Simon (when River was yelling & the cows about to stampede...) "As soon as we unload she can holler till our ears bleed though I would take it as a kindness if she didn't."

Then River acts odd & Mal adds "See morbid & creepifying I got no problem with as long she she does it quiet like."

Safe is a great show!

My favorite part of the outakes is watching Adam Baldwin's face!
He's usually the last one to break character, only losing it after everyone else. When Zoe flubs her "Now we can retire and give up this life of crime line" and he leans into the shot, realizes she flubs it and says, "oops!" it's just priceless, and his "what the hell?" shrug with Nathan's "Jayne! Don't steal too much of their shit!"

How come everyone's always getting the "find that kid who was taking a dirt nap with baby Jesus, we need a hood ornament!" line wrong?

I rewound that part 20 times and I could never catch the whole thing. I couldn't understand all of what Nathan was saying. I didn't catch the part about Book until like the 7th time at least. I just got a new computer and i watched it on that but I don't have the speakers set right. It's really poppy if I put the volume up high and it doesn't go that loud. I tried watching The Producers on my laptop last week and the volume at its highest was so low I had to sit up on it.

Plus Nathan said it all so fast and everyone was laughing and so was I. I just wasn't hearing it all.

that idea is a bit funny though, just think replacing a swear word with "summer"

cast member " There I go again. I summered up my line, for the 11 summering time. Summer it all. Maybe I'm to dry. Could somebody get me something to summering drink?"

I really like how Adam Baldwin's the very last to break character, and he even tries to save some scenes - like in the backseat spaceship driver, when everyone's yelling, Adam, in his best Jayne voice, bellows out "Gorram it Wash, MOVE!" Totally in character. Just thought that was cool. Plus his "Oh crap, I just looked at the camera."
Also, I love Mal's "TRAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAP!" Gag. Oh, and they're talking to Mr. Universe, and Nathan just loses it. "Uh...what's my line?"
Ahh...fun on Serenity.

One of the funniest bits I saw was from The Message, but wasn't included on the Firefly DVDs (I found it on the net). It's described in the commentary for the episode though. It's the scene where Tracey is lying in his coffin and his recorded message is being played. The crew are standing around the coffin and the camera slowly turns in a circle to show everyone's reaction. Well, if you haven't listened to the commentary (and you should, the commentaries are great), the camera starts on Nathan and as it turns he shows up beside every other character. Somehow they don't realize what's going on and seeing their reactions as Nathan shows up beside them is hilarious. Alan looks up and is surprised to see him, Summer is just cracking up, but Nathan stays in character throughout the entire thing. It's a gutbuster.

Nathan was the one who was standing next to everyone while the camera panned around not Adam. However it's great someone else saw Adam hit Jewel with his hat as she was laughing at Nathans antics.
