So, it looks like we can rewrite The Princess Bride for our BDH's. What other movies could we do?

Of Course I say the Magnificant Seven - just cause.

I know we can do Star Wars, I don't know how yet but I have this feeling.

I am trying to think of one of those old romantic comedies, Cary Grant and Katherine Hepburn. I can see Mal/Inara in those rolls. Trying to find something with a part for everyone.

edited because I have lost my ability to type coherent thought

How about some version of Swiss Family Robinson?

Holding until you get back, Captain.

Mal and Inara?

How about "The African Queen"?
only the rest of the crew will have to sit this one out.

How bout chitty chitty bang bang?

Niska could be the king, patience could be the queen. The bounty hunter could be the child catcher.

Have to figure out Zoe, Wash could be the toymaker.

That's why i gave up so quickly, not a lot of things that can hold nine unalike characters.

Maybe they could take a shot at Ocean's eleven minus three, Inara could be Tess, Atherton would be the Owner, but then it gets fuzzy, I'd nominate Kaylee for the Britsh explosives expert because she'd be more likely to go on a rant about how bad the demolitions crew is, but as he was the only one with things that go boom Jayne is left without a place in the movie.

Simon would bring a very different angle to the high roller than Saul (remember in Canton?) but it's the only place he fits.

River would take the place of the "95 lb chinese man" (yeah, I'm deviating a lot.) Mr universe could be the computer guy.

But I've been putting this off for too long, the biggest problem:
Mal would be Danny, making Zoe Rusty, leaving Wash without a role to fill. Book likewise doesn't fit in all that well.

Jayne would need to be the thug.

So clearly just picking a movie that has enough characters doesn't work.

OURMRSWASHBURNE

'Engine' Grease

Starring Simon Tam as Alexander 'Sandy' Dee, uptight preppy schoolboy who has transferred to Rydell Flight School from Persephone.

Shock horror, the first girl he meets is Dannie Zuko (played by Kaywinnet Lee Frye) - the girl he fell for over the summer and to whom he swore undying devotion (badly, and with much stammering and mumbling)

Co starring

The Pink-Dress Ladies
Zoe Washburne as Riz-Zo :)
River Tam as Frenchy (can't you just see her wide-eyed stare?!)

The Sereni-T-Birds
Hoban Washburne as (Howdy) Doody - it must be the shirts...
Jayne Cobb as Not-so-Sunny
Malcom Reynolds as KeNICKie (to nick something means to steal it, in the UK)

and introducing
Shepherd Book as Coach Calhoun
and Inara Serra as Ms McGee

Heheh.

Well, since Mal is never going to do the decent thing with Inara, we'll just have to shove him in the right direction. Say,

It Happened One Night

The 39 Steps.

The Front Page

Entire cast wise,

Alien

Predator

Malevolent aliens try picking on Serenity and our crew. You don't know them, son, so I'll just tell you this once. You'd be a lot better off annoying Ellen and Dutch instead. This is definitely the wrong rec-room to break into.
