Mornin browncoats,

Been off doing my alliance duty for the past few days (ah, if they knew the real me) anyway off the beaten path a bit. My better half and I have been watching the tv series LOST from net-flicks. Very good show. A bit out there but,hey thats what makes it interesting. Well we're watching it the other day when I spot a guest actress on the show I could swear I've seen before.

After some Twizzlers and blows to the head with a blount object I realized who the actress was. Her name is Tamara Taylor and she played the pretty teacher who was in the classroom with River in the BDM Serenity.

Not that it means anything. just a bit of info I wanted to pass on. I think the eps name was "Special" if someone is doing the same as we are. Anyway, good day

Yeah, I am a fan of the dvds via the mailbox as well.

And that's a good call, picking up on Tamara.

Sorta similar, but maybe not. If you ever watched 'Wonderfalls '( I strongly suggest it, if you've missed it ) , remember the character Gretchen Speck-Horowitz? ( Chelan Simmons ) She was the sexy, chatty , superficial blonde who appeared in 2 episodes, mainly in 'Pink Flamingos'. Well, she appears in a StarGate - Atlantis episode. 'The Tower'.

I know, completely off the topic, but since Wonderfalls was a Tim Minear show, I figured it was kinda neat.

Or not.

Tamara Taylor also appeared in an episode of "Numb3rs" as a (doh!) teacher. That show, of course, features our Mr. Universe.

Howdy BROWNCOAT1,AURAPTOR and DONCOAT

Yep most of the time its my wife that stresses over the name of an actor or actress shes seen before and can't remember their name. This time is was me, and I wouldn't call it stress but it was a bothering aggravation though. I just couldn't recall where I'd seen this lady. Then it just hit me.

I enjoy seeing and identifying actors from other shows. I don't know, just glad to know that they're working I guess.

AURAPTOR, I will have to check out Wonnderfalls. Sounds like a neat show and right up my alley.

Something else. Although I did like "Lord of the Rings" I really wasn't a fan of the books. It was fun seeing one of Frodos buddies as the character "Charlie" in the LOST series though.

Gotta agree with you Zzeta13, I like to spot actors from other shows as well. Usually I'm fairly good with making the connection and the actor name but not the character name.

A few actors I'd seen before they entered the Whedonverse are: (excuse the spelling)

Vincent Kartheiser (a snowy mountain film and Luckytown)
Keith Szarabajka (The Equalizer, Roswell, A Perfect World)
Alan Tudyk (A Knights Tale)
Armin Shimmerman (Star Trek of course)
Amber Benson (SFW)
Seth Green (It, X-Files)

There are others but I can't remember all of them now...

LWAVES,yup its fun to see so many actors and actresses in new and different roles. I have a lot of respect for their ability. And too its also fun to see how they will play that new character.

I was a huge Tolkien fan for years, and was very glad , for the most part, how the trilogy turned out. And naturally, I want everyone, especially the younger folks, to do well in their careers. It didn't take long for me to see Dominic ( Meriadoc Brandybuck ) Monaghan as 'Charlie' instead of a furry footed Hobbit. I think it was the herorin addiction.
