Likes to mess with stuffs.

Just a quick message while I can get in.

The problem with the site/database is that it can't take any load. I can't figure out why yet, but it's not hardware related to the server since I moved both the site and the database onto different machines.

I ran all the checks on the database itself and everything is coming back looking good.

The only thing I haven't tried is on the network hardware side, which are the firewalls, switches, and routers. That'll take a while to test since the slow down happens only where there's a heavy load on the server.

Will keep you all posted.

I am a couple of hours away from Raleigh in Wilm, NC. So, We had a Partay at my place for game seven. I had some college/hometown buds at the game. (lucky bastards, drunk dialers too).

Thanks as well. I think we're gonna have problems until we start getting some younger folks on the team. Unfortunately we lost one of our better ones early this year with whatever his heart keeps doing.

And I do miss watching Aaron. Been watching him play since his U of M days. I only get to see what ever games are on CBC these days. I dropped cable at the same time the Wings signed an exclusive contract with a cable company, I've actually seen more of Toronto and Montreal in the past 3 years than I have of my own team.

Watch/listen to your local news & such. The guys usually take the Cup out to public places so the fans get to see it and such as well.

Now, if you don't know these particular works, I cannot... canNOT... recommend highly enough the following two albums:

"Sir Henry at Rawlinson End" (and it's related works) from the very late, incomprehensibly great Vivian Stanshall. Play around with these three links for awhile:

The second album is Lol Creme and Kevin Godley's "Consequences," one of the most amazing (& amusing) concept albums ever recorded. Besides VERY interesting music that the ex-10CC guys did with an instrument of their own invention (& patenting - the "Gizmo" - the album was originally designed to be a ..."sales" demo... for the instrument - there's a big Wikipedia writeup on all of this). However, as it grew (eventually to three records), they enlisted the help of another late, great Brit-comic, namely Peter Cook. On the album, he performs all the (many) spoken vocal parts (except for Lulu) - rather like a lot of Peter Sellers movies where he performed a dozen or so totally distinct parts. Moreover, the got Sarah Vaughan to sing SO-OO-ooo smokey... oh wait... she ALways sang SO-OO-ooo smokey.

You can occasionally find this album used or new via Amazon or eBay. I got my new one from an Amazon vendor for $35 - but, mostly, it sells for closer to $200. Word of caution - there is a recent re-release which is abridged - it only caontains the instrumental pieces with all of Peter Cook's wonderful comic masterwork deleted. The full 3-record set was only released by Universal Music's Special Music label - as a 2-cd set - a couple of years ago and, if one wanted to expand their experiences in "weird, random and totally outragous entertainment"... THAT'S the one to get.
