Does anyone know if they are actually going to publish a Serenity/Firefly book? I looked on Amazon, found one that was called Dark Mirror, which apparently isn't real. But I read parts of a chapter that didn't seem to have been edited and very professional sounding. Is it a project that fizzled away?

This book does not exist. Don't bother pre-ordering it. "

But it has been confirmed that there is a new comic book in the works (at least, I think).

Awww crap. It seems weird since there's obviously a market for them. I mean - if they've released Charmed books they very well should do Firefly ones.

Well here's hoping that the next Serenity comics will spawn a long running series.

Well, if it's any consolation, the hold up is not with the authors or Pocket Books (the publisher). Seems Joss has not had the time to read or give the nod to any of the submitted proposals for novels so they are in limbo for now. Could be they will never see the light of day.

It's said the reason there aren't any current books is because Joss is waiting to get the greenlight for the sequel, so he doesn't really want to do any books that might break canon or not go with the story he's planning for the next movie. However it's said that Stephen Brust of the Jhereg series loved Firefly and Serenity so much he wrote his own book, with all the characters and is waiting and hoping to get the nod to publish it, but if it doesn't get published he's going to put it on his site as Fanfiction for people to download. I haven't even read the comics yet, much less all the books. I'm pathetic, but that's what happens when you don't have the coin.
