Today's Amazon rating is 19 still in the top twenty not bad for a cancelled t.v. show. Just a sign that more and more people continue to find this show. You expect to see an increase after Christmas from all those who didn't get the set as a present. But to see it so high all these weeks later shows all of us spreading the word of Firefly is having it's effect.

In fact from it's release date over a month ago I doubt it's been below 20 on the Amazon list. Does any one remember when the release date was? Yes with ratings like this we may yet see a film from Universal.

December 9th...same day as Buffy season 5.

Thanksgiving is a sham. But it's a sham with yams...it's a yam sham.

I can't believe how happy that makes me, that it's selling so well.

I hope the execs at FOX are appropriately ashamed, but I wonder if they're even aware...

Ok, sad again.

They know. The DVD's are selling too well for them not to.

I doubt it. Those sumbitches at Fux would probably never admit they were wrong, they'll just shrug and axe another show so they can get even closer to their goal of 24/7 reality TV.

MAL
Good. Thanks for the update.

From SciFiWire:

The DVD set of Fox's canceled SF western show Firefly has sold better than expected, which is good news for producers trying to mount a film version of the series, the FireflyMovie.com Web site reported. Chris Buchanan, president of Firefly production company Mutant Enemy, said, "We are getting pretty close on the movie, and hopefully we'll have some 'official' news soon."

Have they said ever what was expected? Just curious as to whether or not it was doing well beyond, just scraping past, etc., etc. - I would imagine well beyond, but they had to know they had a fan base when they put it out - Just curious...

I'm also curious about what the initial expectations were. I've been using Amazon's availability information as a guide. It's currently at 9 to 10 days but has been all over the map recently (2 to 3 days up to 3 to 4 weeks). I took that to mean that fox had to make more. But I'd love to see some concrete numbers on sales.

On a side note, it felt really good going store to store trying to find a place that still had it in stock. (In a weird sort of way ). Ended up putting eighty miles on the truck before I got lucky!
