I just noticed on the U.S. amazon site that someone wrote a one star review of Firefly and it's posted second from the top in the most recent reviews.

Not to be insanely persnickety or anything, but is there anyone out there who hasn't written a review and might want to post a glowing one? Maybe a few people? I hate the idea of this person's review being on the page prospective buyers would most likely see.

Maybe he's a Fox plant.

Yay! You go! I wrote a really long one a while back and believe me, if I could write a second I'd do it. Thanks so much Channain.

Sometimes it feels like Firefly is the Little Engine That Could, having to bravely keep going in the face of so much crap. If it were most other shows I wouldn't get so riled up at one puny bad review, but Firefly at this point needs all the help it can get -- meaning all the considerable help that it deserves.

wow - there's some sparking reviews out there already. three other people bumped the DVD up from that measly 1 star to a full bore 5 star rating.

I just read that review- And I just have one message for that guy-

He looked bigger when I couldn't see him.

I know just how you feel. I'm all for differences of opinion but I draw the line at barely cogent slams of my beloved Firefly. Thank goodness that he comes off as not that smart.

I'm also smarting about that one person who found his review helpful to them. Now there are at least two people who will walk around saying, "oh, Firefly? I heard it sucked."

Grrrr. Arggh.

I wrote a review at Barnes and Noble's website. But that one guy, he will go to the tenth level of Hell. (I know that there's not one, and that's the point.)

I just posted a review, and also modded that back-birth who gave it 1-star as unhelpful. If I ever meet that who-dun, he'll wish he were stripped naked, dipped in honey, and dropped into the Reaver town square.

Out of curiousity, does Amazon keep a 'top rated' (by customers) list of their DVDs?

Heh heh, Shiny, those last two posts were sure satisfying for me to read. Thanks.

I don't think that Amazon keeps a list according to number of stars. I haven't been able to find one, anyway. It has seemed to me that their customer favorites lists are tied to number of purchases of any given product, and/or if you believe in darker forces, maybe companies pay them to plug products as customer favorites? I don't know. Anyone know any different?

I'm looking forward to reading your review, Shiny. I hope that that one-star no-brain's review was pushed off the page.

I bet he talks in the theater, too.

Thank you for keeping up with the Amazon reviews. I had already written a review for Firefly, so I went and quizzed my mother on her thoughts and sent in a review for her based on the information she provided. I converted her with the DVD set she bought me for Christmas. This weekend I am looking to convert my best friend, her husband, my brother and his wife. I used my birthday as a catalyst for a Firefly party and asked for the viewing of Firefly as my present. I'd ask for luck but I don't think I'll need it. I've found Firefly speaks for itself, it just needs the opportunity to be heard.

Fortunately the one-star idiot was bumped off the first page. Actually there's now more than 12 reviews ahead of them. And it looks like folks are making their displeasure known:

"2 of 53 people found the following review helpful"

Although, who in the hell are those two people? (Gorram those that don't watch the DVD and are just negative and such )

I SHAVED OFF MY BEARD FOR YOU, DEVIL WOMAN!

May have been the losing side. Still not convinced it was the wrong one.

Hmmm.....

Seems Firefly has slipped down to 21st.

That guy is a fool, who wouldn't know a good program if it bit him on the butt. Good to see that his crap got buried by so many good reviews.
