This is our big Guerilla Marketing Week all!

When we're gonna try to communicate to other Firefly/Serenity sites and also to other fandom sites about the Firefly Marathon on SciFi.
We're gonna try to spread the word to them needs told!

We need folks who have memberships on other boards, like Stargate boards, Star Wars boards, Star Trek boards,BSG boards, Lost boards and Highlander boards, etc. to come forward and help us make a list of sites and then help us post on those sites.

You may either volunteer here in this thread or email me at followmal@gmail.com.

Any help with this for Sameertia and I will be most appreciated.

We're trying to be inclusive not argumentative, so this operation ( 11th Hour says that crews that help do this will be like Special Ops!) will be a delicate one. I know, I know, sounds overdone...but we want to be remembered wherever we go as the bunch that screens our movie for charity and shows up in droves to do it, and the bunch that takes in money after a hurricane. That's who we want to continue to be. And if in the process we get some more Firefly/Serenity, well, it's all good.

Now I'd like to quote from Sameertia... because talking about our fandom on other sites needs to be done with caution and kindness.

The date for the marathon is July 14, 2006, this coming Friday. Let me know if you want hints on what to say... but if you're a long time member at those sites, I'm sure you know what would be the best thing to say to folks there.

Use one of our shiny new banners in your signature over at those places if you feel like it.. if they stay up, maybe someone else will run across your posts and be intrigued.

Here's the banner thread... and also on the second thread there, 11th Hour has links to posters, I'd bet they'd copy and paste for site usage too.

I am a member of over at www.sg-command.net, and would gladly post something over there. They just got back up and running after a complete loss of everything, so at least this will get seen. They have been acting a bit tough on what off-topic stuff is TOO off-topic (Hate the players, not the game), but I don't care. They can't stop the signal.

Ahhh, Kenobius this is great!

As Sameertia said.. for anyone with ties to a StarGate site .. this is a fine opportunity to talk about Firefly as the lead in on Friday to the premiere of the new season's Stargate SG:1 and also Stargate: Atlantis! ( So maybe not so off topic!)

This is what I would say.. I'm excited about the premiere's ( I'm a fan of Stargate too!) and I'm gonna be watching the Firefly eps that are the marathon lead -in on that Friday. Firefly is a really cool show and I've found I really love it.
You might give it a chance too.

As Sameertia says.... whispering.

With me, it only took a couple of minutes of Firefly which I saw last year when they used it to lead into the new season of Stargate and Atlantis. I bought the DVD's and I've not looked back. If someone will just watch a few minutes, they'll be intrigued.

Well, I plan to go about the web a bit this a.m. and post about the marathon on some of the Star Trek sites that I belonged to. Don't go there much anymore, but I will for Firefly.

Not that I don't like Star Trek anymore, but it's not Firefly.

Is there a reason that the moderators over there would delete or remove them? I do NOT understand that place at all, but I'm trying... really, I am.

This is our last day to remind folks of this marathon. We want more members. I'd like to be 'coating so many people on Saturday and Sunday that I can't keep up at all.

I'll have Hera put it all on the calendar. When we have the website up, it'll be clickable and everything. Right now, it's within here and I'll bring it back up to the front page when we get done entering stuff.
