John slowly climbed out of the crate he managed to smuggle on while Wolf 13 and 62 got back on board. He stood and looked around empty. He needed to find them fast. Funny how two of the best friends he'd ever made were on this ship. He wouldn't be suprised if River had gone kooky she was stuck in that place too long before that brother of hers could get her out. She probably wouldn't recognize him being they'd never actually met in person. But of course... his thoughts were cut off by the gun shot behind him. he turned and saw someone he never met.

"John, or whoever ya are," Mal says slowly, "Everybody's got a bullet with their name on it. If I spent my whole life worried about who wants to kill me, I'd be wasting a whole lot of good living time. So, unless you got something productive to say....?"

There's a long pause as all eyes turn towards John. Kaylee looks a bit aghast at the Captain's rudeness. The rest of them just know he's right. They're in a dangerous line of work and there's someone gunning for every single one of them all the time.

Except perhaps for Inara, who stands against the wall, lips pursed and arms crossed, waiting to hear what needs saying.

But if you want to re-enact Serenity Valley on the advice of a couple of stow-aways, then you are as insane as they are."

Dropping her fork, she pats Fly's shoulder and heads for the cargo bay. She's got a terrible urge to shoot something and there's an undead monkey around somewhere.

Ertia crawls along the floor, checking the ducts and crawlspaces. "Here monkey monkey monkey..."

The clank of the weights behinds her catches her attention and she rolls over, puts her back against a solid wall and watches Pain.

He's halfway through his first set, just getting warmed up. Face set in concentration as he presses and lowers with supreme control. His muscles bulge, a sheen of sweat starts across his brow.

A soft smile on her face, she sits quitely, guns between her knees, and watches him work out.
