Best Known For - Hiding under bunks during firefights and accidently shooting fellow crewmembers.

By 23 she was married to another top computer agent, and had the world at her feet.

In just a few short years, she would be arrested and brought to trial for crimes against Blue Sun Corporation. Imprisoned on Valdez Penal Moon, she planned her escape, only to learn that her beloved husband had died during his incarceration. Her family and friends had turned their backs on her, afraid to go against the Alliance and Blue Sun.

At 28, she offered her services to a tramp frieghter, just a quick job of changing some troublesome cargo labels. Mal hired her on permanently, and, finally, she's putting her past behind her, and learning to love and trust again.

She doesn't share JR's passion for jalepeno laden foods, and tends to negotiate rather than fight.

Occupation: Mercenary

Background: Pain grew up on Santo and lived with his parents until their untimely death when he was 8. Pain soon came to live with his uncle on Persephone where at 15 he started work at his uncle's courier business where he learned how to fly a shuttle. At 18 he met Fly and one year later they started a relationship which lasted 15 years. Fly was the first person to introduce Pain into the life of a mercenary at the age of 25. Since then both Pain and Fly have been working together as guns for hire, even when they broke up 4 years ago. One day Mal was looking for a few more gunhands and both Pain and Fly jumped at the chance. It has been almost three years since Pain and Fly have been on Mal's crew and they wouldn't change that for all the platinum in the verse. Pain is currently in a budding relationship with Ertia and will do anything to protect her.

Sidenote: The secret to Pain's nickname is because during his time living with his uncle he was a pain in the pigu, hence the nickname Pain.

SHIPSCAT

Oh, the cat is still here... just seen slightly less often. Crowds, gunfire and strange mutants make her nervous! And it's a big ship for such a small cat, so there are lots of places to hide.

Name - no one has actually given her a name! Although even if they did she may or may not answer to it - being a cat and all. Closest thing she has to a name is "That Gorram Cat!" which is how Jayne - and occationally Mal- refers to her.

Age - unknown, but still can be playfull and kittenish. Hasn't gotten any bigger since she snuck onto the ship over a year ago, so she must be fully grown.

Appearance - a small (just over 6 pounds in weight), shorthaired grey-and-black mackerel-patterned tabby cat with green eyes. Lean and graceful, there must be some Siamese in her ancestry somewhere. But she is clearly not a purebred cat.

Planet of Origin - appeared on Serenity after a stop on Beaumonde, but may have been hiding aboard for a while before then.

Occupation - being cute, mooching food, catching any random small vermin that happen aboard.

Weapons - claws and teeth. But she'd rather run and hide than fight.

Interesting facts - Knows her way around Serenity better than anyone - after all, there are lots of places a small cat can get into! Wash was the first to make friends with the stowaway cat, and she still loves to sit on the bridge with him and watch the stars. Mal acts like he doesn't like the cat when there are witnesses, but he clearly likes her - infact he has a vent cover off in his bunk so she can come sleep on his bed if she wants. Lately, however, the cat has chosen Simon's bed as her own - to Simon's annoyance and River's great amusement. Inara's shuttle is the only place the little cat hasn't been seen, although she certainly seems to like the Companion. Possibly it's the smell of incense that keeps the cat out... Jayne is the only crewmember to truly dislike the cat, and the feeling is mutual!

Weapons of Choice: High-velocity revolver and Rapier, both having belonged to his father.

Occupation: Smuggler/weapons trafficking

History: At only 10 years old, Cale was too young to serve in the military during the Unification Wars, but constantly helped his father, Captain William Alexander of the 18th Infantry, “Titan’s Fist”. Shortly before the battle of Serenity Valley on Hera, the 18th Infantry suffered a crushing defeat. When the Alliance came to negotiate the Browncoat’s surrender, William spit in the commanding officer’s face and said he would sooner die then allow his family to suffer at the mercy of the Alliance. The commander obliged and executed William and Sophie, Cale’s mother, right in front of him. Three days after the execution, Cale took his fathers Browncoat, revolver and rapier, and a week’s rations and hoped on the first boat off the planet and never went back.

In the years to come, Cale bounced from ship to ship, falling in with one group of thugs or another, picking up many new skills along the way. Cale mad sure to perfect his marksmanship and sword-fighting skill in between jobs. He eventually procured a small, one-man ship of his own and began trafficking arms in the outer-rim. His ship was grounded when his catalyzer shorts out and his engine fuses into a solid block of steel. Without any options, Cale hides his cargo and sells his ship for scrap. He spent a few days on the planet before crossing paths with a man in a local bar. He was drunk, falling all over some woman when some cuthroats took him for easy pickins. Cale stepped up to defend the man, drawing his rapier and pistol, when the drunkard stood up and leveled the two men by himself before passing out. Cale decided it was best not to leave this man to the vultures now that he was unconcious and took him to his camp outside of town. When the man finally awoke, Cale explained what had happened and the man introduced himself as Jayne. Cale and Jayne immediately hit it off because of their love of guns, Cale having shown Jayne his stash. After a time, Jayne offered to introduce Cale to his Captain, knowing that he was marooned on the planet. Cale accepted and eventually struck up a deal with Captain Reynolds, paying his fare with a few guns and crates of ammo, as well as assisting on a few jobs. Captain Reynolds saw potential in Cale and offered him a spot on the ship, as long as he was willing to work with it. Cale readilly accepted. Mal is the only person on the ship Cale feels comfortable speaking to about his father and the War.

In his time on the ship, Cale has developed a strong loyalty and friendships with the whole crew, particularly Jayne because of their similar interests, though Cale finds him crude at times. And Cale has developed an infatuation for River, though he would never admit it.

name: wolf freezefast.

age: 27.

planet of origin: three hills (same as john and kaylee, same town and everything.)

apperance: 6 foot 3 inches, semi-muscular, shoulder length brown hair, deep brown eyes.

weapon of choice: triple barrelled shotgun, claws that extend from his hand, cyborg arm.

bio: wolf grew up on three hills with john and kaylee, at the age of 17 he was engaged to kaylee. he was drafted into the alliance army, he rebelled and joined the independants.
everybody thought he was dead until he showed up and joined a ship called the Heart Of Haven. there he met pain and fly, the original captain died and he took command.
on an important smuggling mission reavers appeared out of nowhere and wolf was dragged away. he fought his way out but lost his arm. he had surgery on persephonie that gave him a cybornetic arm, just before the operation he found an old comic book and decided to have metal claws like the charecter on the cover.

three years past and he copied a certain bounty hunter,( some guy called jubal early.) and got onto serenity, he is currently romanticly involved with kaylee. shortly after he joined serenity, a genetic experiment named 62 came onboard, after a battle in the ducts, wolf was able to maim the beast, he and kaylee reconstructed it as a cyborg, and has a relationship with it, somewhere between a pet and a friend.

pets: has 7 purebred wolves back on his parents farm, he once nursed a condor back to health with help from kaylee, who lived next door.

Adopted by the elderly free trader Jongleur Bay, Calisto has traveled across the verse. After Bay died, Calisto inherited his vast fortune, using it to purchase a fleet of ships. I don't know. I like having everything in one place, not having to bounce around.
I guess if everyone else wants to move, I will too, but I'd rather not.

We also have the Blue Sun forum here in the Community section which is actually for discussing chain stories and what-not, so we could move profiles and links pages there and just keep the main story line here. *shrug*

FloralBunny, as the earliest characters
may just vaguely remember, was swept up
in the thread-jacking which turned Come To
The Galley (or whatever we were calling the
Welcome thread at the time)into Life Onboard
Serenity.

Surviving that, she took on the job of
using the spare shuttle to scout for straw-
berries (thievery was sometimes involved)
and anything else the crew might need.

She hacked the encryption on the lock which
secured a spare crew cabin in the forward
port area and had undertaken a special
project when the shuttle was scragged by
Persons using Numbers as Names.

She has told nobody her pre-Serenity history
but a specialist has been called in.

Believers in privacy will likely quail at
what is to come....

Details: Born in a small coloney of Shadow till family was moved onto New Shadow before the war. During the war was drafted into an Alliance squad that "protected" Stanley Mountain. six months after they went up Choo and five other people were the only people who came down...

After the war started in the odds, ends and antiques market till he went freelance five years ago. Hasn't looked back since

Thanks for the bump Guy! (even though you just shot me in another thread...

I promise to not hold that against you here...

Here's my long pondered Character profile (hope to find the time to see you all on board properly some time soon, though being in a different time zone makes it a bit tricky)

Name: Esme, Ez

Age: difficult to pin-point but probably closer to 40 than 30.

Planet of Origin: Doesn't discuss it, but to some people's surprise (though not everyone's) it was a Core Planet. (possibly Osiris?)

Appearance: not tall, 5' 4", dark brown eyes and hair, slightly plump (well, curvacious), a 'well endowed' woman, with shoulder-length, dark brown hair (usually worn up) and brown eyes.

Weapon of choice:nobody's seen one about her person but she is rummoured to have killed at least one man who crossed her in her travels

Family: Ez doesn't talk about her family but has let a few things slip when under the influence. Family was apparently well respected, old money. Father may have held a prominent public position such as Mayor or Magistrate of a large city. Probably youngest of 4 girls - it is apparent that she has no contact with her family at present. Sisters married 'well'.

Might have been married in the past but doesn't mention it or wear a ring.

Personal History: When her father lost his power and money (her sisters had already married, and her mother had passed away), Ez went to work for other notable families as a nanny, a job which her father conceeded to her holding as it was by no means disgraceful. She supported her father in his declining years, but upon his death about 13 years back (coinciding with the family she was with no longer requiring her services as a nanny) she followed her long held dream and joined a travelling theatre group. Through talent and determination she quickly became their leading lady until the company was devastated both physically and financially when they were caught up in a local brawl and theatre bombing. Though apparently fit and healthy Ez still carries scars on her upper arms and back from this attack and never returned to the theatre. Few people have seen her scars as she dresses immaculately & modestly, if somewhat in the style of a frontier lady. During her recovery she lived in a Shepherd's Community and learned about herbs - their culinary, medicinal and mystical qualities, and when she left the community she worked as a cook for several hotels and did some healing on the side. When a brothel proprietor heard of her talents she offered Ez a job as cook and nanny to her young son. The girls (& boys) looked to her as a mother figure and she was relatively happy there with her own personal lodgings and the run of the kitchen.

As the boy outgrew his need of her, and a tutor was engaged, Ez got restless and looked to travel again - usually trading her skills as a cook and/or healer to gain passage on boats between the outer planets.

Secret: She keeps a journal and some would just love to know what's written in it! There are lots of other secrets....

You never know when Ez might arrange passage on 'Serenity' or when she might disembark for her next planet bound experience...

Interesting facts: Beaten by River Tam to get a place in the Academy.Went to the same school as River and was her boyfriend before she went to the Academy.Created first computer virus at 13 is now an experinced hacker,once hacked into an Alliance security system to find out some infomation on what they were doing to River for Simon Tam which eventually led to getting River out of the Academy.When hacking an Alliance mainframe came across some security reports on River and Simon Tam detailing they were on the Firefly class ship Serenity, and is now setting off on a journey to find River and then marry her.

Education: Private school(one of the best in Osiris).

Goals: To crash the whole Alliance mainframe just for fun and to marry River Tam.

Pets: A gerbil named Squizzy.
