Alright, so I guess it's pretty obvious I'm hooked like the rest of you, otherwise I wouldn't be posting here, right?

Let me just say - because I have to (as I'm sure all you did once you finished Firefly for the first time) that I am truly blown away by how wonderful this show is. Seriously. Unfortunately, I didn't know about the show before earlier this year. But I picked up on it thanks to a recomendation by a close friend, and am forever in love with the story, the characters, and the universe that Joss Whedon has established.

When I say I don't want much television, I mean it. There are only two shows I tune into regularly - 24 and LOST - because of the wonderful acting, great characters, and excellent stories that the writers have established. Its quality TV, and that's very rare. Firefly, for me, is now on that level with them. Though I was just a little disappointed in the movie, I have truly enjoyed my Firefly experience! Thank you Joss, and thank you everyone else, for keeping the Firefly universe alive.

Having watched Firefly with my dad, you can say for sure you have two more fans than you used to :) Here's to hoping we 'browncoats' never lay down our arms.

You got good taste. Welcome to the 'verse. You'll find a lot of good people in here.

Welcome home, Farsight, and please
bring your dad along aboard our lovely
old boat. There's always room for more.

FollowMal should be along when she has
a minute, and you'll be fitted with a
perfect virtual browncoat.

I'm on strawberry duty most days, and there
is a standing invite to come up to the galley
for a questioning of the buffet. There we
have a right shiny spread of FF-themed
foodstuffs and drinkables. And there are
members who'll offer you some of their own
supplies as well.

Have a Mudder's Milk and fill a plate.

The next thing you and Dad must do is to convert
more new 'coats.

We aim to exponentiate!

It's always great to find another browncoat out in the big ol' 'verse. Welcome! I just got hooked myself the day after Father's Day, whenever that was. Remember to sign all the petitions to get it back on the air and whatnot. You've come to a friendly place (with the exception of the occasional troll)

Hey.... I never got a virtual Browncoat!

I did get half a bottle of mudder's milk though. I think people weren't too happy about my thoughts on the BFM. Sorry, ya'all... I gotta be me.

Me neither.

The show is great, I watched it when it was on tv, eventhough Fox turned it into a total Charlie Foxtrot, playing episodes out of order and such. Lent the DVDs to my dad and he said it's one of his top 5 favorite shows of all time, which is quite a statement from him.

I'm hoping Sci-fi brings it back and handles it better then the other show they took over from Fox (anyone remember the nightmare that was Sliders once it made it to Sci-fi?). Speaking of Fox's innate ability to sabatage their own programming, anyone here remember Roar?

Those of you without coats should just
hang in there. FollowMal is without her
radar for the moment, but we should be
getting things sorted.

Anyone who needs a mug of Mudder's, just
step over to the buffet. ::-)

Hi 'Babywith' and 'Sixstring' (or can I call you Jack?) I had the same reaction after I launched myself into the 'Verse here! I realised later that if you introduce yourself we're all your friends and FollowMal is amazing at speedily entering the room and bestowing virtual browncoats upon us! I love mine - it fits perfectly and I never get too hot (or too cold!) It's really nice in the galley... there's all the goodies our good friends have offered already PLUS I have just been planet-side to pick fresh herbs so even if we're still stuck with basic rations - it should all taste much nicer than usual! I found some baby tatties too! (potatoes for those who've never been to Scotland!)

Also - You'll want to learn about llamas!

Love - Magdalena x x x

P.S. - There are no strangers here - just friends you may not have met before!

Thanks for all the welcomes!

I am curious, how much growth has the overall fanbase experienced in the last year or so? Are things getting better, staying the same, or getting a bit' worse? I for one am hoping this show is getting more and more recognition, as it very well deserves it :)

Welcome Farsight! First, please let me offer you a whiskey to sip as a welcome.

Secondly, it doesn't matter when ya find it, you're always welcome here at your new home.

As far as total fan-base we really can't say, but not too long ago someone did up a grid and over half of our current membership (over 21,000!) joined after the movie came out last year, so the B(ig) D(amn) M(ovie) seems to have helped a bit on this front.

Lastly, let me also invite you to the partay thread, which always has a nice spread (avoid the bean dip--trust me on this) and music for dancing 24/7.

Lookin' foward to seein' ya about the ship.

May have been the losing side. Still not convinced it was the wrong one.

Welcome home, Skippy.

Truly, the bean dip is okay as long as
you don't overdo. Might not want to
share a bed afterward, though.

Captain got the recipe from some actor
named Nathan somebody. It's for real.

Somewhere around here there is a recipe
for Mudder's Milk, too.

Yes, do spread the word to friends about
the utter coolness that are Firefly and
Serenity. The bigger the fan-base, the
more likely we are to see our Big Damn
Heroes back onscreen in one form or another.
