Is there any kind of registry of Browncoats, to aid in finding fans in your area?

I know there are other fans in the Tallahassee (aka hell) area, but I only know of 1 or 2. Kind of hard to put together viewing parties and viral marketing campaigns when we can't find each other....

There wasn't a registry, but there was a thread where a few hundred people told what they did and where they were from....
I can't recall the name of that thread, or I'd look it up for ya. Tash, with his fine memory for thread names, is sure to be able to google it, and help you out.

I remember that thread. I'm just thinking how handy a registry would be. Clicking on "FL" would be easier than searching thru the entire thread to find the Florida residents. It would make it a lot easier to plan Shindig/ con promotion/ get together stuph.

Other things I've been involved with have benefited from the idea; I think it would be a good addition to this site or some other. Preferably automated and driven by the user profile, so no one has to update all of the crap by hand.

Definitely not wanting to supplant Succatash and his fine memory (heaven forfend!) but this one I do remember...

Might take some work to narrow it down to folks in your area though! You'll need to take notes

I agree with Dug. I think a registry of Browncoats is a seriously good idea and would help in the organization of shindigs, convention trips and just general get togethers to discuss & watch Firefly among other things. I know I would love to know how many other Browncoats are in my neck of the Great White North (Canada) other than just my friends in the immediate area.

We just need to convince someone of sufficient computer skill to do the work and get it hosted so's all us Browncoats can start registering.

Anyone have anybody in mind?

It could simply be another entry in the database, perhaps under the "FAQ" heading. It would be searchable, too.
