I just downloaded 1.4 Gigabytes (first 2 eps) of Battlestar and watched for the first time. Its not too bad, a little slow but ok. One thing, you can definately see Zoic's hand in the special effects but I would have preferred them to do something a little more different than Fireflys effects. Let me try to be clearer. I think Zoic did a masterful job with Firefly but the special effects for Battlestar should have been more.. erm.. I dont know.. epic, like Star Wars etc. I just really didnt think the Firefly type of shots worked that well in this show.

Also I can only find first 2 episodes of this new Battlestar are there anymore? how many in the miniseries?

I don't think it was the folks at Zoic that wanted to do the Firefly type snap-zooms such, that was from Ron Moore and crew. OR even Bonnie {expletive deleted} the prexxie of Sci Fi (or is it USA networks?)

But I'll ask Lee when I talk to him again and see if he knows who decided to do those effects in that manner.

Personally, I liked it, though some of the effects were a bit inappropriate for the moment. However, there was that nice little bit where Serenity flew past in the background of one shot... :D

On the other hand, the city that took place in got nuked a day or so later. Maybe it was just a quick pickup for Mal and the rest?

History doesn't always repeat itself. Sometimes it merely shouts "Weren't you listening the first time?!?" and lets fly with a club.

May have been the losing side. Still not convinced it was the wrong one.

Can't remember who it was that posted that pic back in like October or Novemeber showing the Serenity flyby, but I watched the show just to see that 2-3 second shot. I even called the whole family into the den so they could see it.

I am sure Mal & crew were gone before the nukes fell.
