You think you know--what's to come, what you are. You haven't even begun.

Hey, Barry White is considered one of the sexiest singers ever, so low voices can be good. I've always liked them myself. I like almost any type, really, it just depends. I'm caught somewhere between alto and soprano, here.

Me, if i'm lucky I'd call myself high baritone. But eh, well, I dunno. Got me an octave range but never seem to find something that aint too high or too low. But then, that's probably a good thing for expanding teh range.

So you're in theater then, do you know any good quotes to use for the next thread, since Tristan went and made the request? It's been years since I read any Shakespeare.

Here's a little something from a monologue I used last year, doesnt exactly fit in a thread title...

Art thou a man? thy form cries out thou art: Thy tears are womanish; thy wild acts denote The unreasonable fury of a beast: Unseemly woman in a seeming man! Or ill-beseeming beast in seeming both!

Eh, if not, due to all of Shakespeare's works being public domain for the last 400 years...

http://www.shakespeare-online.com/plays/

Go nuts. I'm gonna look for some more.

Oooh... Julius Ceasar. Good old fashioned sexism, but hey, got both genders at least... "I have a man's mind, but a woman's might." -Portia

Or Portia again...

"Ay me, how weak a thing the heart of woman is!"
Tho it might be funny if we modernize it abit.

"Ay me, how weak a thing the heart of {folk} is!"

Btw all, going to Ulster tomorrow afternoon for a week, means my internet access will be rather limited, with all the vistin' and stuff. Keepin up with you folk won't be easy.

I like man's mind, woman's might, that's a good one.

Awwww, I'd say we'd hold out for you, but you know we can't. Don't worry, though, at least you can always read the old threads.

That I can. And no, I wouldnt want to stop the free torrent of ideas!

Besides, given some free time and my grandmother's dial-up, I might be able to stay caught up.

And hey, Ireland is pretty cool...

I would love to go to Ireland. There's several places I would love to go, in fact.
I wonder if they allow naked Pagan dances at Stonehenge. Man, that would be shiny. I could gather up all the Forsaken, and we could all go...
Hey, maybe next thread I'll have a Stonehenge thing going.
Sorry, totally off topic. But that's okay, we're the only ones here.

It's sooo empty...

And also, Stonehenge is in England, Salisbury... Not so much in Ireland.

I went there once for the tourist thing... it's a bunch of rocks with one of those rope fences around it. Meh. Nah, it's cool.

I read in the news though, back on the solstice, there was a big hippy shindig in the stonehenge area.

But really only visiting family, and sorta pretending to be tourists. Still good tho.

Yeah, I knew it was in England. Sorry, I kinda started wandering in my mind, thinking of places I wanted to go and stonehenge just popped up.
Yeah, I've seen reports of the hippie/druid shindigs. It was built for the solstice, after all. That would be fun to see.

Last time, or maybe the summer before that, I brought meself back a rock from the beach. Meh.

But eh, looking forward to seeing my cousin again, even though i'll only be able to see her for an hour while we change planes in heathrow. She lives in Reading atm. /cry.

Oh well, I can catch up n all, and even if she is 10 years older than me. Meh, most of you folks are 4 or 5 years my senior at least, and we all get on fine! Age don't matter none. Hmmm... maybe I can find a region 2 of firefly and give it to her. After all, she liked monkey island... hmmmm

Ok, I did a search, and I think I'll use "If music be the food of love, play on" because I like it. So since this is starting to get long and I'm pretty bored, I'm going to go ahead and start that. BRB

Be kind to your techies, yea for they can make you look frumpy and leave pins in your clothes, or put the curse of the ugly lighting gel upon you. Also they build the raised platform you must dance upon twelve feet in the air.
It would really take a lot to piss a serious professional off to the point where they'd intentionally hurt the show, but it could happen.
There's a lot of them that can sing and dance too you know...
During my orientation to the department in college there was a room full of about 70 students. The prof asked the musical theater majors to cheer (about 2/3 of the room), then the drama majors (about the other 1/3), then asked the technicians to stand up (there were 5 of us). He then said "look closely because they are the ones who will be employed when they graduate", or something along those lines. It never hurts to learn another skill while you're practicing your sensory memory folks, there's always room for someone who can swing a hammer or sew on a button. Small repertory companies need Jack and Jills of all trades because everybody does everything or the show does not happen.
It also helps if you can grok the techspeak and communicate effectively with your designers and technicians. It's like being able to speak French in France, they may still think you're a boob, but they appreciate the fact that you're trying and will try harder.
(No really, I've tried it it works!)

StinkingRose! don't tell them about the pins! shhhhh!

haha, what? what pins? i wans't talking about pins! i don't accidentally on purpose stick pins in people!

what a silly idea.

I will stick them in arrogant tosspot actors though when they are so busy checking themselves out in the mirror you can't fit the clothes properly.

I've never done it before but that one runty little twerp from barnsley got to me. three years of it, you'll forgive me the slip?

Anyway, what else was there? oh, yes, Stonhenge, nekedness and dancing.

Not a good idea.

Firstly its fenced off - not access, summer is one long wrangle between the police and the site preservationists trying to keep some berk who calls himself Uther Pendragon High preist of whatever and his stoned followers off the irreplacable archeology.

Besides, Stonehenge has nothing to do with the summer solstice - it was built for the winter alignment, so every summer all the self respecting pagans are at their church in yorkshire. And no-one dances naked in a british winter.

'cept maybe Micheal Palin, who'll probably dance naked just about anywhere.

ah, Shakespeare - how about something from the sonnets?

Your robot reminds me of you. You tell it to turn it stops. You tell it to stop it turns. You ask it to take out the garbage it watches reruns of Firefly.

Shall I compare thee to a Summer's Day? Thou art nakee and dancing upon a monolith.
'Twouldst be more joyous were it not for the hint of singed hair from the bonfire jumping. Thou art singed my love, and smell of barbecue.
