While I was driving down the M4 the other day, (going a little faster than I should have been) I passed under a bridge only to see a policeman on the other side with a radar gun, laying in wait.

The policeman pulled me over, walked up to the car and with that classic, patronising smirk, asked:

"Runway too short"?

To which I replied. "I'm late for work."

To which he asked, "What do you do?"

"I'm a rectum stretcher," I responded.

The policeman was surprised and confused.

"A what? a rectum stretcher, and just what does a rectum stretcher do?"

“Well," I said "I start by inserting one finger then I work my way up to two fingers, then three, then four then with my whole hand in, work side to side until I can stretch and stretch and then I slowly but surely stretch the hole until it's about 6 feet"

Then the policeman asked questioningly and cautiously . "And just what do you do with a six-foot arsehole?"

To which I politely replied, "You give it a radar gun and park it behind a bridge..."

Speeding ticket: £105

Court Costs: £45

Look on copper's face: Priceless...

Nice one, Citizen. Reminds of something our dear Captain might say to one of those damned Purplebellies. Of course, you have to remember that the policeman was only doing his job. How fast were you going, anyway?

Mine is an evil sugar high laugh! Bwahahahaha!

I wasn't, tis just a joke I got in email, I personally never break the speed limit, you'll never find me in the outside lane doing 90 (which is, incidently far slower than your average Beamer or merc driver), no sir.

Sounds like an unhealthy fear of the police force, something that shouldn't occur in a free society.

The police are supposed to work for the public, you should only fear the police in a police state.

Not in the UK they don't - they carry little sticks that look like a radio antena and they flick them to make them longer (like a quick-flick radio antena) and then they hold them over their shoulder and say "Stop! Sunhill Police!" when they are too far away to catch up with you in a chase!

At least I think so - might be confusing my life in the UK with some TV I watch here in Australia a bit...

Love you though - Magda x x

No. I don't fear the police. Actually I have several friends who are police officers. But I have had a gun pointed at me. And it may or may not be a healthy fear, I fear loaded guns.

hwa? that's either really deep, you know, being loaded and ready to fire defines it as a gun, or, utter nonsense.

Unloaded the gun is completely useless, therefore (for all intents and purposes) non-existent. The clip gives it the means to exist.

Fine, then a bullet brings forth existence and purpose.

The bullet does not exist if it is not in the gun, if we're sticking to the 'purpose=existence' philosophy.

but yet if suitably dropped or struck, the bullet may explode without the gun...and yet, the gun structures the detonation, and gives form to chaos!

MY question is: at what speed do YOU normally drive on freeways posted at 60-65mph? My answer is: 67 tops. Anything over 67, and my BOB (Bucket Of Bolts) shakes like an earthquake and makes most disturbing noises........now, when I win the lottery and buy that mid-80's Porsche 911 SC...........

Life is short, brutal, and unpredictable. EAT DESSERT FIRST.

Ah, but the bullet that was dropped was done so without purpose, yet the results exist. But that is chaos, indeed, and does not apply to the newly set rules.

must the trigger be pulled with purpose and forethought? or merely purpose, in order to truly define the gun?

and, i don't drive so much, took lessons a few years back, but, i live in the city-centre, don't go much further then where a bus can take me.

not so much with the forethought then...

h'mmm, now how d'you get away with claiming not to have done it on purpose if purpose drives you... or do you fall back on the 'a big boy did it and ran away' line?

you know, it's a radical thought, but, d'you reckon you could reach the same end result, i.e. not being blamed, by just, not pulling the trigger? or would that deprive the cudgel and the bullet of having form, purpose and a whole?

If the gun is loaded and you don't pull the trigger, then it still has purpose, because you obviously loaded it with the intention to shoot something, whether you knew what you were going to shoot or not.

Whoa...that made a stupid kind of sense.

you then devote yourself to the school of thought that, without bullets, the gun has a purpose as an inferior cudgel? it's been covered

Wow! I used the term "loaded" because police generally do not carry unloaded guns. Sort of defeats the purpose. To serve and protect.
But I did get the Early reference. With no bullets in it is it still a gun? As Dirty Hairy said,"Do you feel lucky punk?"
