I was actually born right here in 'New Melbourne', Australia but did live in the town of my father's birth - as previously mentioned - and have heaps of family and friends there... not sure if any of them are browncoats though I suspect one or two fo them are candidates...

I also had to move in with my parents (financial following 'serious illness' but find I get enough house-sitting jobs that I rarely reside there!

It gives you some independence without having to pay rent or gas/electricity etc. (at least the way I do it!) Places vary a lot in terms of comfort and convenience and responsibility (pets etc.) but I love it - I call myself a 'modern gypsy!

It's nice to know that we were practically 'neighbours' once (at least in global/'versal terms!!)

You may not realize it, but that's probably the deepest, most philosophically interesting question ever posted on this site (at least that I've seen).

Really, I'm not joking. The answer to that question, and why you ask it, could fill an entire book.

Are we talking reddish skin or political leaning here? Because I would have to differ on the leaning. The political right and I agree only on the subject of money (i.e low taxes and smaller government), and even that becomes less true every year and they are taken over more and more by big business.
I'll stop there. You don't wanna go down this road with me.

Hey, I took eHarmony's thing. Said it couldn't match me, either. I knew it. And their profile of me is not all that accurate.

Eharmony? Yahoo? Mate1? Match.com? Piffle. It's a load of go-se and I'm not like to try it even if I'm desperate (which I'm fairly certain I ain't).

Anyway, I'm a 27-year-old Mal clone in the Philly area. At this point, seeking friendship and only friendship, due to a string of experiences that were shatteringly bad. I might not be closed off to something more, though. It depends on who I meet, if anyone at all...

I lived in Germany for a short period (working for the British Military) and liked living their a lot, is that close enough?

Actually there is plenty of browncoats from Germany around here, wether their within a reasonable distance is another matter entirely.

yeah thats what I actually meant ... the distance ... we have about 200 of us on a german board but most of them arent very active...so its a core group of maybe like 30? Some of them are here on FFnet, too.

I wish they would finally show it on TV here, but well we have to wait...

Honestly I´m glad we even got the film in cinema. Though the voice over actors where chosen pretty badly. The translation was ok though cause some browncoats got to help.

I like the idea of this thread. But Firelfy fans come from such a random set of people that I think is what makes it hard to find people close together. It appeals to everyone, whoever had the idea about converting the people in the 50 miles between browncoats into browncoats had the right idea

For the fun of it: 15 year old Kaylee type (Zoe when I'm mad). Looking for Jayne type with big guns and a large bunk (just kidding, actually looking for a Wash type, with Jayne's looks) for a decent relationship so I don't have to be one of the lonely 75% that I currently reside in.

I lived in Germany for two years serving with the US Army. I was stationed in Darmstadt, about 15minutes south of Frankfurt. I loved it there, me and a couple of my troops would go to Cologne on our 4 day weekends. It was great. I was one of only 2 Firefly fans I knew of in the whole country, the other one being my roomate.

I too am in the position of all the browncaots i know being folk I converted myself, or on rare occassions folk my converted folk converted. Oh, and one or two who saw the movie actually. (One time someone jokingly did an operative nerve attack thing on me, I turned around and went "You saw Serenity!". best thing ever.)

Okay, commence hijacking then!

We have a pretty campus ^_^ How are you getting through the heat this week? Yikes! I'm glad I have work tomorrow because it'll have AC, whoo. As far as Serenifly, I kept hearing a buzz about it for so long and finally decided to rent Firefly on Netflix. And, I was hooked since April! I've converted my friends and now am starting on coworkers.

Wow, you're in Ireland right now? Business or pleasure?

I'm new here, but thought I would post anyways. I would be really surprised if anyone here is in my neck of the woods.

23 year old quasi Simon-type currently living in Osaka, Japan. I'm doing an internship here, so I'm still a student (University of Wisconsin-Madison). I'd love to find someone Kaylee-like, but I have an open mind. Aside from firefly, my interests include motorcycles, camping, cooking/baking, movies/anime and hanging out with friends.

I did try yahoo personals twice and have had mostly positive results. I met one friend and ended up dating two girls I met through the site. I didn't date the first one for very long (we just weren't compatible) and would still be dating the second if it wasn't for the whole living-in-Japan thing. Granted, there are some creepy people on there but there are good people, too. Just start conversations using an email that you don't care about in case they do end up being creepy.
