Ok, folks, I've tried posting dry informative posts re: the help I need. That ain't gettin' it.

I am going to just holler HELP! and see what happens.

We need at least 5 more people to help us with sending out information to yahoo groups in order to start communicating across the 'verse better.
I have some volunteers, I need more.

It's not a hard job. It only involves posting a prewritten post on the 20 yahoo groups we're asking you to join. It might even be that it'll pare down with time as folks from the group may want their own person to liason between us.

C'mon, folks..

I hate to be this desperate and pleading and I didn't think I'd have to.. but PLEASE?!

We need help, the Event Team and I do.

SimonWho,

We've made a list of all the yahoo groups and we're trying to divide them up between folks.
Then those folks join the groups and post news of what we're doing here at FFF.net. It's a way to open up communications between us and all the groups out there. I'm sincerely hoping that with time there will be a true cooperation between us and them and other forums too... we'll post about our campaigns and they'll send us information about their planned shindigs and fundraisers and such. We can keep a calendar up with everyone's happenin's.

If more folks are involved in the 'verse, maybe more folks will be drawn into the 'verse.

Yes sir.. we're going to give ya'll prewritten posts that you can be comfortable with and that you can alter in small ways to suit the group and to suit yourself.

We hope to have them posted on the BSC website, but gorramit I can't alter that site yet.. I have no capabilities .. so we're gonna wing it by posting them here, by emailing them to you, whatever it takes to get the job done.

You will absolutely have final say over how you interact with the groups you join. We want this to be an open friendly communication. We don't want to bug them.. we want this to be mutually beneficial for all of us Browncoats.

Hey there PaganPaul and SimonWho!

An example of what you would be posting would be, for instance, informing them of:

The existence of the fireflyfans Browncoat 'verse calendar, and how they can get their events on it

The specifics and dates for the Browncoat FF episode iTunes buying campaign (tenatively Aug 11)

Fundraising efforts for a newspaper ad to run in a California newspaper thanking Universal on the anniversary date of the BDMs release in the theatres (Sept 30)

The "grand opening" of the firefly myspace page showcasing the videos that win the SSC trailer contest (tenatively the end of August)

The launching of the boost the signal website for all your Browncoat boosting-the-signal guerilla marketing needs (tenatively, near the Serenity 'Versary, Sept 30)

And other things as they come up. Volunteering will involve working closely with the event team via email, and posting on yahoo sites.

FollowMal has the definitive number, but I think it skates around 80, if you count the Whedon-groups that include FF in the mix along with Buffy and Angel.

Actually, it's a little over 150 groups. Which is kinda why we need so many volunteers.
