Well, Copilot...hate isnt quite right, because, well you didnt do it to me or mine. I think, however, for whatever your reasons you took the wrong path. You defined yourself by what others thought you were - your issue shouldnt have been with yourself but your SO. Communicating how you felt, loudly if needed, would have probably been best, since men are a bit...slow...on the uptake....and dont do well with hints.
And of course it would have spared you the discussion you had with him recently - but that in its self says more about your character than anything else. You made mistakes in your past, we all have, but you owned up to them.
A lot of people wouldnt have been brave enought.

Mornin' all, or should I say Good Morning.

Copilot- It probably woulda helped if the D-bag didn't manipulate his way to you cheating. Not that you aren't responsible for your own actions, but it sounds like he just needed someone to keep the bed warm.

UPDATE: So the girl next door asked me to hang out with her and my sister at her families house last night. Had already planned on cookin' dinner so I had to decline, but said that they'd better come back to eat. Not fine cuisine (Indian taco's are just taco crap on a piece of fried bread), but all were happy. Didn't get to sleep until two o'clock due to watching movies and f-ing off in the living room. Just alot of dirty talking, but clean fun. Had a wonderful 4 Am feeding for the baby leaving me with a grand total of four hours sleep. Oh well, I had fun. Think this may be the format for actual dates in the future. Cheap, shows off my domestic skills, no need for a babysitter, and a hell of alot of fun. Good ice breaker introducing my life to a new person.
Ramble, ramble, ramble. Done for a bit. I get to play boss, cook, administrative ass., and HNICON today.

I always suggest Kate Bush, but it's probably not in keeping with your tastes. I can definitely say not Muzack, though...unless you like riding in elevators...

I would reccommend Fall Out Boy, but considering the nature of the lyrics, it might put a jinx on things. Also good are My Chemical Romance, Death Cab For Cutie, and Taking Back Sunday. And you can never go wrong with jazz; I'd suggest John Coltrane, Miles Davis, or Charlie Parker.

As for guilty TV pleasures?

Er.
Well, I have so little guilt, and watch so little TV...
I've never felt guilty about watching kids shows - I had Rocky & Bullwinkle tapes before my son came along.
I only watch shows where the writing is tight and I like the characters (hence Firefly), so that rules out 95% of network.
I hate reality shows and talent shows. Do people really want to be so famous that they tollerate Simon Cowl? I'd said early on in the audition "Just who the hell are you, anyways? What instrument do you play? Did you ever perform on an album that went gold or platinum?"
I've stopped watching the CSI shows since I first read about the science not always being up to par, then actually saw bad science on CSI:Miami.

So these days its pretty much PBS.

Guilty tv pleasures...'Trash' whenever husband is out. Also 'Jaynestown'

Don't watch a lot of tv - live in a crap area for reception. I have four terrestrial channels and no cable - I have to get CSI videoed every week.
(GSR forever!)

Music - husband and I bonded over Half Man Half Biscuit lyrics, Primal Scream (incidentally, isn't 'Country Girl' such a Kaylee song?) and Green Day. (Most of the shouty guitar music is mine - he is quite disturbed by the Johnny Cash stuff.)

I've been blaring: Clutch, Hank Williams III, Sublime, and the Band of Gypsys album by Jimi Hendrix. I also suggest John Coltrain and Charlie Parker. Great music to do pretty much anything by. I've always been a fan of Billie Holiday.
ADD: May have to cook for you sometime.

Tristan: I think all were right. Last night was a good ego builder. Thanks everybody.

Well, my wife's a Deadhead and I'm a Rush fan, so our music doesnt tend to synch up that close, so we rarely play our music when the other is around.

The music that does get played around here is an odd mix - she goes for middle eastern music, and when I'm doing dishes I tend to put on Steely Dan or the like. Sometimes Gilbert & Sullivan comic opera. If I had money for CDs, I'd probably expand that to Alison Krauss.

You think you know--what's to come, what you are. You haven't even begun.

Oh man, I have so many CD's. Usually I'll try to find someone who knows what I'm talking about musically because I hate going "Oh this is my favorite band you have to listen to them" and getting a totally lukewarm response or even open resistance. However, my favorite bands are as follows:
Evanescence, The Goo Goo Dolls, Bon Jovi, Barenaked Ladies, Eve 6, Godsmack, Billy Joel, kidneythieves, Savage Garden, Queen, Green Day, Tantric, Ra, Shakira, David Wilcox, Bad Religion, John McCutcheon, Weird Al, etc etc etc... There are a lot of songs that I think describe how I am and that I love but don't own, and there are a lot of artists that I just like one or two songs by. I'm sure I'm forgetting some, here.
Must go to bed soon... Should not still be up...

SMARTBUTDUMBBLONDE

Hi all! feeling particuralry cheerful today, as I finished the second draft of my Geography coursework, finished drawing my Zoe picture, and lots of people replied to the threads I started. Although, no one has given me any feedback on my latest fanfic *sigh*.

Anywho, imponderables:

redheads: my school is no different, all the redheads get bullied and and all manner of ginger things. I don't get it though, its just a hair colour, it doesn't affect their personality!
Alan Tudyk is a redhead? I thought it was more blonde, really. Was that really his own hair, in Dodgeball??
My hair is Blonde, but its slowly going darker i the winter then bleaches blonde again in the summer, by the sun (i've never died my hair)my hair is weird, When I was a baby, it was jet black, then it went white, and I mean white, now its going darker again.

Beards: My dad has a really bushy beard, which when he was in the navy; reached his collar, until he met my mum and she made him cut it. I've never actually seen him without it! Because of this, they don't bother me at all.
heres some irony: You know ZZTop? Weel, the two guitarists have these huge great beards, but the drummer is called Frank Beard, but can't grow one!

Appliances:We have a dishwasher, and we call it Dad, so when he's away racing, my mother has developed ways of cooking incredible meals using next to none appliances, so we don't have to wash up! Excellent!
So many appliances for poridge? woah!

Thats great that you're feeling better, MSG, summer cold suck!
PR: hope things go well with your Sushi dude!

Roomates: Only personI've ever shared a room with is my sis, and she snores like a buzz saw!

You a Pratchett fan, then Tristan, you would get on great with my best friend, cat, she has every book and is always bugging me and my other friends to read them, but I just can't get my head round them. the only one I liked that she leant me was Monsterous Regiment, and I also have Wee Free Men and a Hat Full of Sky and they crack me up, but I'm not a fan of the others.

NVG: I ahve no advice, never having been in such a potstition, all I can say is Good Luck.

Oh, my, that was a long post.
Ok, my favourite bands: Soundgarden, ZZtop, Prince, Hall and Oates, Michelle Branch, No Doubt.
I also love the soundtracks to Dirty Dancing and Ravenous. A crazy mishmash of styles; rock, ska, 80's classics and my secret guilty pleasure: country and western.

Here's a beard story I just remembered: My dad is also very tall, thin, and cscary, if you met him in a dark alley. A couple of years ago, we went to York Dungeons when we were in York. We were in the plague room, listening to the guide, and it was quite dark, my dad was stood right at the back in the corner. The woman in front of him turned round and started screaming her head off because she thought he was part of the York Dungeon 'Experience'. I thought it was hi-larious, but needless to say, my dad was not exactly thrilled!

DAYVE

My tastes in music vary with the sunrise… I like a lot of stuff as long as it is actual music being played on actual instruments by actual people… an old guitarist at heart I enjoy Leo Kottke, Ry Cooder, Stevie Ray Vaughn, Clapton, Hendrix, Duane Allman as well as Pat Metheny, John Scofield, Bill Frizell, Django Reinhardt and even a little Andres Segovia.

I grew up in a family of bluegrass players, mom, dad, uncle, cousins all played some type of acoustic instrument. I was the rebel and played drums for rock & roll bands.

Recently, I’ve been listening to Gotan Project, Bitter:Sweet and Ahmed Jamal Trio….. (and Esquivel is great)…. And sometimes I’ll dig out the old Lps and listen to Old Blue Eyes… and even some Dean (hey somebody pour me another Scotch) Martin…..

I’ve got a 60 gig iPod just about full… I’m never too far from some sort of music…..

Oh, SpaceAnjl - i had to laugh when you mentioned your husband and you bonding over Half Man Half Buscuit.

only my boss is one of the band, and to think of him,(the man who regales anyone whole listen with tales of his favorite movies, Zulu and The Wickerman and all of the strippers therein, and can regularly be heard singing the lyrics to very rude marching army/navy ditties) then imagine someone bonding over it is... surreal to say the least.

Last time i shared music with anyone, it was Tori Amos - and now he's hopelessly addicted, in return he got me addicted to White Rose Movement - an electropop or whatever band from london - which he sent to me not because he new i liked that kind of music, but because its his brothers band. I'm still glad.

I remember many happy hourse spent with my playlists on in the back ground - stuff like the cure, old punk bands (the clash sex pistols (thought they're not so romantic) stranglers etc) and other bands like the who, bowie elton john kate bush and echo and the bunnymen and 80's pop, mixed in with newer chillies foo's and radiohead - it was great, everysong had an association or prompted a memory, and on the rare occasions we had nothing to talk about, we had the music - plus there was the one time with the very eventful pillow fight and, ahem, stuff, set to a soundtrack of led zep and NIN.

Nothing beats good old rock for that sort of thing... apart from Massive Attacks Mezzanine album - to this day we remain convinced that they made that album from under the covers.

Now, This one had to be bought out and shown to the world.
Everybody - say thank you Arcadia.
