I seem to remember a thread with a link to a website that sold serenity t shirts(I think they were official),one of the t shirts was a black t shirt with Browncoats written on the front and on the back it had the Serenity sign,it wasn't the thread which said get your hooded Serenity tops.

It's nice to buy the officially licensed stuff... cuz word gets back to Universal that stuff for Browncoats is sellin'... therefore pleasing the bean counters.

There's lots of unofficial but sweet stuff on CafePress and around.. check out the www.bigdamnboard.com for some links to just about everything in the 'verse.

I don't think that Universal ever did set up a shop to sell merchandise...
they had it at their official site to 'give away' if you earned enough points by participating in challenges (writing, drawing, scavenger hunts, stuff like that)
AND they gave a lot of stuff to movie theaters,
a friend when to an official (private) Universal screening of Serenity and was given a whole box of merchandise, but I never saw anything for sale anywhere.

edited to add: Oh I see by looking more closely at the links that there have been licenses to sell official Serenity merchandise, good to know!

Embers, I'm just going by what I've heard some of the other folks say.... that if we buy stuff like at Hot Topic.. we'll still funnel money into the Universal coffers.

I dunno if it's true or not.. I just thought it made sense.

I wish I'd been on the UB long enough to take part in some of the contests and stuff.

oh I'm sorry, I hadn't looked carefully at those links, and those do look like officially approved merchandise....
so I'm sure you're right: the $ from those will go to Universal's coffers (and show them that we haven't lost interest in our 'verse)

yeah, the challenges and stuff were really fun,
at least I found them fun!
We had to make costumes for all 9 characters (that was a team/crew effort) and lots of stuff that I found to be hilarious...
However I moved around the same time when they were finally getting around to shipping out their 'orders' so inspite of earning about 10,000 points/credits, I didn't end up getting most of my stuff...

(not that I need any more t-shirts anyway)
