We sniff the air, we don't kiss the dirt.

I just discovered the new computer where I sit at work has a DVD player. Watching Firefly at work. Only badness can come from this.

Perhaps you could set up a collection of stragitically placed mirrors around your monitor to make sure no one can see you watching it (hee hee).

'Poor little thing. Never even saw the light of day, now its in showbusiness!'

Not to get you into trouble or anything. But sounds like a good opportunity to make some co-worker browncoats. Just don't let the BOSS know. He's alliance all the way

No, only goodness can come from this! Watch the Firefly DVD's on your lunch time and invite co-workers to watch with you.

We play the Firefly DVD's or tapes in my lobby at my work.. all day long. We guerilla market everyday. Our worker comes in and eats in the lobby and watches every single day.. he's become a convert and I've converted some customers. So this has the potential to be a good thing!

Also Penguin's mirrors look mighty capable.

You're lucky. At my work our internet access and email is monitored and shopping and entertainment sites are blocked so you can't do anything fun at all.

Have to do all my good surfing etc at home.

Nothing wrong with watching a DVD during your lunch hour. The sound could be a problem. It might disturb others. But you could invite them towatch with you and create a few browncoats.

I visit this site during my lunch hour just to see what is happening in the verse.

Our company doesn't mind if you do it on your own time.

The internet is already paid for so it isn't costing them anything.

And they know we could be doing worst things.

I think they deliberately kept those drives off our computers to prevent us from loading unauthorized software.

We have been worned not to download any software
off the net because if it effects our computer we get a severe look from our system administrators. Sort of the look Zoe gives Mal when he hurts Kaylee's feelings.

You don't want to see that.

When I gave my boss the box to take home for the weekend, the first thing he said was "Great! I have something to watch tomorrow when I'm at the other store!) (we alternate with our two employees working the Saturday shift at our two stores)

"The hell you will!" I yelled. "You take these home and watch them on your fantastic tv with the fantastic surround sound turned the hell up, or ELSE!"

But, you know, now that he's seen them in the correct way, on the correct equipment, it's perfectly okay. Only... shouldn't he be doing some sort of WORK?

Walk tall, or don't walk at all...

I have been able to intice a few new recruits by borrowing a projector and playing an episode in the conference room for : "lunch and a movie". So far the attendance has grown, and with the BDM coming to DVD.... Nothing in the 'verse will stop us!! :biggtin:

These are all GREAT suggestions. The only problem is I work at a 911 center and the phones ring constantly and LOUDLY!! When I take a break I usually need to leave the room to preserve my sanity. I have, however, converted my partner who saw the movie with her husband and borrowed the BDS from me. Also, Serenity By Gaslight is the desktop at every station.
