Our captain is brilliant in this movie...Funny as usual...His part as chief is very similar to Mal. I couldn't help crackin up every time he swore. Anyone else see this. What were your thoughts. When is it releasing on DVD in the US.

Oh you're so lucky. I have not get to see it yet. I wanted to see it in the theaters but no one would go with me and theres no way I'm watching horror by myself. I have no clue when its coming out on DVD, I hope that it will soon because I'm dying to see Nathan!!

Thanks for strolling! October doesnt seem too far away. Plenty of time to sell my husband on the idea of renting it.

I would've braved it but I'm such a chicken! Plus I'm a blubbering fool when I get too scared with the exception of Nightmare on Elm Street. That stuff cracks me up all the time.

I'm not one for Horror flicks, but when it is out on DVD I'll rent it and just fast forward through to our Captain's parts.

I am sure it was a good movie. I'm surprised I haven't seen it yet seeing as how I like horror movies and Nathan is in it. I will have to rent it very soon. I can't wait. When I first saw NF on Two guys and a girl, I was like, who is this guy? Then, it turned out I enjoyed his acting better than the original cast. He helped that show tremendously.

I saw Slither in the theaters and have to say the only reason I went was cause of Nathan. And it ended up being the only thing I liked about the movie. I'm a huge fan of horror and I can appreciate the cheesy horror movies like Slither but it seriously wasn't a good movie (IMO). I realize they were mostly going for laughs but most of it was just gross and pointless. Nathan was, as per usual, perfect and saved the film for me.

I couldn't agree more. While I'm glad to see Nathan working, I walked out of the theater thinking to myself that, "there went a couple of hours of my life that I'll never get back". Hopefully, White Noise 2 will be a better film.

Morbid and creepifying I got no problem with, so long as you do it quiet like.

America loves a winner!

I saw it the weekend it came out. Nathan was fantastic, of course. I was a bit lost on the varying ways the alien critters reproduced..seemed like it was any number of ways, not just one. Other than that, it was pretty darn good. I'm not much for horror movies, but this one did a good job in making fun of horror movies as well as being one itself. ( did that make sense ? )

The one scene

Select to view spoiler:

where the monster whips slashes the one deputy (?) down the middle and he falls into 2 pieces was classic!

The most unbelievable thing? Nathan's character being single in that town. Yeah, right!

People love a happy ending. So every episode, I will explain once again that I don't like people. And then Mal will shoot someone. Someone we like. And their puppy. - Joss

I thought it was great. I wouldn't call it a horror film. It was funny as heck. I am a huge horror film fan..This movie is much more funny than scary. It does tend to be a bit more Gore than it had to be. But very entertaining..And Nathan..well, was Nathan.

I am definately not a horror fan, but I really enjoyed Slither. And not just because of Nathan! It was fun. Not scary, just... icky, gooey, foul-mouthed, funny, kooky kind of fun.

I can see people not liking it, though... It's kind of got a groove to it that you may or may not connect with.

SWEETESTHAT

I love horror movies, especially the goofy-cheesy ones, so I enjoyed Slither. It might have benefitted from going either further into horror or further into cheesiness; I got the feeling it was trying so hard to do both it might have watered itself down a little. But that's how I remember it, I'll have to review it in October.

And of course, Nathan was terrific!

I am for sure going to rent it in Oct. Of course I will watch it and not be able to sleep, plus take those little mini breaks of reality to calm lol. But I bet in the end it will be worth it....I hope.

Shows what I know. Might be 'horror' circa 1950, but not by today's standards?

I can totally see Joel ( or even Mike ) and the 'bots shredding this flick apart on the Satellite of Love.

Plenty of Nathan Fillion extras on the DVD!! There is a link to a sample clip of "Slithery Set Tour with Nathan Fillion" below.

The SLiTHER DVD will be released on October 24, 2006. Just in time for Halloween. I'm very pleased to announce it will also be available in the HD-DVD format. As I've said before on this site, the DVD will include:
- DVD commentary by myself and Nathan Fillion.

- Deleted scenes, including the infamous Grant Grant meat filing scene, Grant Grant's speech to Brenda about how he loves to be human, "Starla and the inchworm", and many more. All these scenes also feature commentary.

- Extended scenes, including the full porch scene between Bill and Starla, Kylie's more complete explanation of "The Long One," the full scene in the butcher shop with Grant Grant, and much more. These scenes also feature commentary.

- The Gag Reel -- in which you can see just a hint of how many takes Elizabeth Banks screwed up by laughing.

- "Who is Bill Pardy?" - this was a surprise we made for Nathan at the wrap party, in which the cast and crew essentially roasted him. I asked Nathan if he was cool with it being on the DVD, and he was... so... watch us brutally make fun of him...

- "The Sick Minds and Slimy Days of SLiTHER" - A very in-depth, very well done documentary on the making of SLiTHER, featuring the whole cast and crew. I honestly couldn't be happier with this thing.

- "Bringing SLiTHER's Creatures to Life" - a documentary on the prosthetics and CGI effects in the movie. Also wonderful.

- "Slithery Set Tour with Nathan Fillion" - this is the much longer version of the little bit you can see online here:

. At the end of this video, I say some of the crudest stuff I've ever said... and I can't believe Universal left it in!!

- VFX Progressions, from start to finish, featuring kickass music by The Raymakers.

- "The King of Cult: Lloyd Kaufman's On-Set Video Diary" - see the President of Troma Entertainment and the creator of the Toxic Avenger (and my old boss) find himself lost in the world of Hollywood with his cameo role in SLiTHER.

- "The Gorehound Grill: Brewin' the Blood" - a short how-to-make-your-own-blood-and-slime video.

Wow. I haven't seen the movie either, and I'm not into gore-fests so I've been on the fence on whether/when to get the DVD, but that list of bonus features...

I may get the DVD and just watch the bonus features and not the movie...
