I know it's not Firefly related, but it is sci-fi, was canceled by the same folks as Firefly, and I thought it was darn cool first time around.

I think the important thing, even if you never liked Futurama, is the third paragraph.

SAVEWASH

Now I am learning about scary.

I hope you don't mind if I quote that third paragraph here:
Quote:

Futurama was created by Groening as a follow-up to his smash-hit show The Simpsons. The show never found as wide and deep a fan base as did the adventures of the family from Springfield, and like another Fox cult hit, The Family Guy, it was canceled. Now, again like Family Guy, the show is being resurrected partially because fans never gave up on it.

Browncoats will never give up either! Can you hear us, all you television executives? We'll never give up!

It seems like Fox is the number one network for cancelling excellent shows. I not only hold a grudge because they cancelled Firefly and Futurama but Wonderfalls as well.

Don't forget Dark Angel. It was considered the most popular show for people in their early twenties, and then it got moved to the Friday night death slot. Then it was only on every other week, then every few weeks, then not at all. Hmm... Sounds familiar... Oh, yeah. They did it to Firefly IMMEDIATELY after that.

Not only that... they put Firefly in that same time slot. Not only was it the "slot of death", but it *replaced* Dark Angel, which made all its fans (who otherwise would have been a prime audience for Firefly) instantly antagonistic.

Yes, Fox really showed its programming brilliance there.

So funny you'd bring up Dark Angel... SciFi channel aired the first three eps the other day. I missed it when it was on Fox, likewise Firefly (I know, I'm a boob!!!)but I watched it and I am hooked.

Fox sometimes knows a good thing, ie 24, but is short sighted elsewhere. I guess if it's got an overly "sci fi" feeling to it it's in danger.

F*X and brilliant don't belong in the same sentence together, not even sarchasticaly. It's against the laws of quantum physics or something.

How many Jaynes does it take to change a light bulb?

Two. One to try to put it in and another to find a bigger hammer.

I just love when people such as ^ say things like this cause it puts me in more of a fighting mood to get Firefly back on air. I respect everyone's opinion, but only in the realm of decency. Don't give up Browncoats, our day to rise again will come if we keep workin' for it.

Keep flyin'.
