I'm watching the 'behind the scenes' special about SG's 200th episode, and it's just making me MAD AS HELL!

(though I'm very happy for the cast, crew and fans of that show.)

I'm sure you'll all understand completely.

This is a great milestone for American SCI-FI. I can't think of another American science fiction show that has more than 200 episodes (unless you lump ALL the Star Trek shows together). Like the show or not, hats off to the cast and crew.

Was not disputing that, and you're absolutely correct.

If you saw the 200th show itself, there was a 'tribute' to Firely near the beginning.

When the SG1 crew were sitting around the table looking at the script there was the following exchange...

Who the heck is going to make a movie based on a tv show that only lasted three episodes?

I heard it did very well in DVD sales.

America loves a winner!

Had to scan the spoiler, even though I didn't catch the show last night. I'll try to catch the replay....sometime.

People love a happy ending. So every episode, I will explain once again that I don't like people. And then Mal will shoot someone. Someone we like. And their puppy. - Joss

I think we're talking about American Sci-fi.... Not British. I love Dr. Who as much as the next person, but it's a Brit's show.

I was bubbling over at the shiny references to shows. I had to pause it when I got to the Trek references. I laughed so hard....

May not be smart, and it may not please you, but you're definitely gonna see what I have to say.

IMHO,
What they should have done:

In costume,
Sam Carter as Kaylee
Teal'c as Book
Daniel Jackson as Simon
Vala as Inara

All standing in the desert talking, banjo and fiddle music playing, and then Mitchel rides up on a horse, dressed as MAl....

Marty:"Horses? There are no horses in Science Fiction! You WANT the movie deal to be cancelled?!"

Plus, the character from "Wormhole Xtreme" was talking about his character's catchphrase, "It's what I do". Not quite Mal's phrase "This is what I do" from the BDM, but close maybe?
And the long string of bleeped out language the same character used - nod to the crew in the 'verse not being bleeped, because they swear in Chinese? OK, bit of a stretch there.

MAL "You only gotta scare him."
JAYNE "Pain is scary..."

You could tell they were having fun and being silly. I actually cheered and applauded when the Firefly reference came up--it was so well done. The Star Trek, Wizard of Oz and of course the Farscape spoofs were HYSTERICAL!

What I really liked was the following;

At the end of the show the writer said,

"the movie is canceled, they've decided to do a tv show instead."
