Do you know how many weapons there are?

Its like asking me my favorite movie.

There are thousands.

Jaynes hand gun. It is large and I'm sure if it just grazes you, you will be on your back wondering when the ride will stop.

The German 88mm from WWII. It could slice through anything. And often did. I've heard it tell, it could pierce the front of a tank, pass right through and come out the rear. That'a lot of armour it's penetrating.

Spencer carbine from the Civil War. Carried seven rounds in the butt of the gun. It had a lever similar to a winchester but smaller. Favoured by dragoons because it was short and easy to carry on horseback. A repeater during the Civil War was very valuable.

The Brown Bess used by the British infantry for decades. Late 1700's to early 1800's. We faced it in the our American Revolution. Large smooth bore. Easy to load and if it hit anything, large "if" here, it would do serious damage. The soft lead ball was nearly 3/4" in diameter. Can you imagine that hitting you? But accuracy was poor. After fifty yards you were lucky to hit what you were aiming at. But put a bayonet on the end and a British soldier would cut you to ribbons.

There. That makes four. I tried to spread out the timeline so different periods would be represented.

Very good question. I'm waiting to hear others favorites. Like I said there are so many choices.

nearly a year i spent, carefully putting aside a bit here, and a bit there, and now they're considering making sword-ownership illegal in scotland! afraid of getting chibbed or something...i can get keeping it off the neds, but, why honest collectors?

anyway, if it hadn't been for that, this was gonna be my baby

it's a paul chen yanling broadsword, absolutely gorgeous, folded swedish powder steel blade, leather over sharkskin grip...just...

I'm sorry Lio. I thought you actually ment weapons. But this is a series of movies called Lethal. I have never seen them so can't comment. Sorry again about misinterpreting your thread. This will give it a bump. The least I can do.

I aim to misinterpret

1 was the most origional, now on the other lethal weapon - My Robocop Auto 9 it just plain looks lethal.

Alright you primitive screw-heads, listen up. See this? This is my boomstick! It's a 12-gauge double-barreled Remington. S-Mart's top of the line. You can find this in the sporting goods department. That's right, this sweet baby was made in Grand Rapids, Michigan; retails for about one hundred nine, ninety-five. It's got a walnut stock, cobalt blue steel, and a hair trigger. That's right, shop smart, shop S-Mart!

Hail to the king, baby!

i didn't care for any of those movies...

i prefer the 'Dong-Hi' defense......

wherein Japanese Nunchakus are the chosen weapon... the defense is deployed by, 1st, stand in a slightly crouched position, 2nd, grab one handle of the the nunchakus... 3rd, cover your dong and 4th, swing high... hence: Dong-Hi

Two. Pesci is a scream, and Mel is hot and kept his public insanity/prejudice to himself. I'm partial to giant fishtanks, too.

JONNYQUEST

"Did he just go crazy and fall asleep?"

Since the title was originally intended as a reference to the Riggs character himself, I'd have to say Mel.

Hijack alert! (Back in the day, folks, remember he brought us some of the most fun movies. Before he started directing. Before the recent hooplah. Lot's of folk, be they to the far right or to the far left, be they true criminals or true creeps, drug addicts, alcoholics, wife beaters or sterling citizens beyond any reproach, are up on the screen all the time and have been since Hollywoodland became an industry. We're discussing the work, not the artist. Joss seems to be a cool person on top of being a top drawer artist. Ergo Pete Rose ought to be in the Hall of Fame. Ty Cobb is there. All this just so I don't get falsely flamed as being a Mel supporter. I don't know him.) End of hijack.

The first movie would have to be the best; it most closely captures Riggs out of control nature. After that, while still entertaining, the rest cannot over come the smell of "franchise". Although Exploding Toilet is cinematic history.

Real weapons? Sai are the coolest ever. (Electra (not the movie) rules. And a friend of mine use to work in a martial arts store.) Other than that, anything big and compensatory, Vera being a good example; Tony Montana's "little friend" being at the top of that list.

One last thing. Traveler! My God. My brother-in-law was a Civil War re-enacter and Viet Nam vet and sounds kinda like you when it comes to the real thing. Shadow of a collector?

I find it ironic that I hate reading through long posts but don't know how to write short ones myself.

"Well, here I am."
