Me and my family waited in line for 2 hours to get our Die-Nasty Improvisation tickets, and another 2 in the line waiting for the doors to open. All of it was instantly worth it when Nathan Fillion came walking past our line. Holy crap that man is tall.

He was easily one of the funniest guys at the improv. But, the thing about this one is it's an opera improv that's been going on all week, and they have kept the same characters the entire time, and Nathan played an FBI agent investing suspicious murders. The FBI agents name you may ask? Agent Malcolm Reynolds.

During the standing ovation, I put my Jayne's Hat on. I hope he didn't think of me as a loon...

Hee hee, did he pick the name himself?

I'm sure he thought the Jayne hat was flattering, though he would have preferred a knee-lengthed brown coat.

Oh, how fun for you and how lucky he was there!

That's what everyone says who meets him. My friend MalNourished said that for a week when she came home from Moonlight Rising!

I'll bet he found the Jayne hat endearing. He's made it plain in many interviews that he loves the 'verse as much as we all do. He probably smiled inside.

The good part is that they videotaped the whole thing, so I'll try to get my hands on a copy, and maybe upload Nathan's parts onto Youtube for browncoat viewing pleasure.

Well actually I had heard on the radio that every night this week he had been showing up for the midnight shows, so that's when I decided it was time to go. Die-Nasty was actually the improv group Nathan was in before he moved to the states.

I just found that out on my Appreciatin' Nathan Crew forum this last week. Very shiny and I'm glad you got to see him.

Oh, would you, could you? Please?

Thanks for sharing your adventure!

And I have to chuckle with FollowMal... Everyone comments on how tall he is when they meet him! I'm sure if I met him (not likely), I would, too!

I guess this happened in Edmonton, Canada. Nathan's home town.

Who is this they you speak of? As in "they videotaped it"?

Did the show's producers tape it? Is there going to be a DVD on sale or anything?

If not, can you suggest it to someone?? Hint. Hint.

I'm hoping the Edmonton Fringe thing that Nathan narrated and is going to be shown on the Bravo channel next week will be sold on DVD too.

Anony, this is kinda silly to ask, but will you please post when that is on and that it's on Bravo a little before it comes on.. like a day or so please?

You were probably gonna do it anyway.. but I thought I'd ask.. for my creaky old memory and all.

By "they" I mean the producers. Or at least I think it was the producers. Everything seemed very professional, and there was a sign at the front door talking about it being recorded. For what purpose I don't know, if there is a sale I'm not sure. All I know is that there were professional looking cameras and a crew.

And yes, this did happen in Edmonton. You can understand my delight when last year I learned I shared the same hometown as the Cap'n. I'll try to keep the whole video thing up to date as information, if any, becomes available to me.

Glad to read that. Maybe it will show up on the
Bravo cable channel or the Soap cable channel.
Or DVD.

EEEk, just did some more research on it and maybe it is going to be on the Canada Bravo channel. Not US. Didn't know there were different ones.

Also, check this link out! Nathan narrated a documentary on Edmonton's Fringe Theater. It will be shown in Canada on Aug. 30th on an Edmonton station and nationally on Bravo channel on September 6th. I bet this is awesome!

Narrated by Nathan Fillion (Firefly, Serenity), this special follows a group of raw, but talented actors as they compete for recognition at The Edmonton International Fringe Theatre Festival, the largest festival of its kind in North America. Receiving advice from experienced actors such as Joe Flaherty (SCTV), Josh Dean (Free Ride) and Ron Pederson (Mad TV), the documentary tracks each young actor as they write, produce, market and perform their original productions in the competitive environment of live theatre. Filmed at the August 2005 Festival, which saw over 150 shows in competition, find out if the actors' productions will win them acclaim from audiences or criticism from the media. Tune into the hilarious and heartwarming special and to see a group of young, ambitious performers pursue their dreams.

And maybe if we are lucky some Canadian Browncoat will take pity on those of us with no Bravo and tape it and share???

*looks hopefully around*

Rage, rage against the dying of the light. . ."

It will rise in perfect light.

To be fearful of the night.
