It's a fanfic I'm working on, and I wondered how people would react. So I'm asking now to avoid wasting the effort if no-one likes it.

Well my first reaction was "iiieeewwwww" (closest I can get the sound I actually made). But after seeing your post clarifying that you mean, "a" crow, not The Crow (as in, not a re-write of the first Crow movie), all still set in the 'Verse... I have to say, that has some potential. I think I would have to be in the right mood to enjoy it (as a former goth, I have to be in a certain mood to enjoy anything even slightly goth-ish), but you shouldn't worry too much about my reaction.

If this particular plot bunny has come to sit on your head, I'd say go for it.

Double/triple threads tend to get hijacked by either pirates, hippies or the Team Random. that way the serious conversation is all on one post to avoid confusion (of a sort) and the rest....well, waste not, want not.
