I just read that Firefly is coming out in HD. I knew that Serenity was, but I hadn't heard that the Firefly episodes were. There's a great article on tvweek.com

To clarify, this is the show airing on TV in HD, there have been no plans announced for a HD DVD or BluRay release - if there were, it would most likely be BluRay as Fox is currently exclusively committed to that format. Given that Universal is exclusively committed to HD DVD, flans will need to buy both to watch the verse in its entirety.

What I think is shiny is that Universal PAID to have Firefly transferred from film to High Definition.

Universal is going to show it on Universal HD tv which I never heard of before.

Be sure to tell your wife that there are a ton of female Browncoats that know she will fall in love with the series. It's the heart and soul of the show that hooks us. Good luck on getting her to watch with you! Getting to see it the way it was meant to be is the best!

That is the COOLEST part. It shows that Universal does have enough support for Firefly/Serenity to pay for the transfer to Hi Def. Have you checked out the Live at Dragon.com thread? Alan gave some big hints at more movies. It made my heart go pitter, patter, thump, thump!

In our 'Versary Thank You letters, we should include a big thanks for HD, too.
