Ah, a punning challenge!

I once met a man in Delbruck whose hair was divided with many many much much grease, and I said to him, "My friend, with your hair, the part is the whole!"

He booked him on a slow boa to china.

Of course! Anyone can join on Punday! Heh..Punday = Sunday...sorry. Here's a little something, Dave.

Did you ever hear of the planet that was inhabited by mobile flowers? Practically the same as Earth blossoms, but with feet and intelligence. The planet had a king, Richard the Artichoke Heart, who was, sad to say, queenless.

As fate would have it, the king's iris was caught by a pale-eyed perennial at a court orgy, and he desired her as his queen.

But, alas, the potential queen was not the most educated of flowers. King Richard hired all sorts of tutors for her queenliness. All sorts of educators could not sway the flower from her only interest of gathering pollen.

At last the embarrassed king decided she was hopeless, and slipped Rotenone in her drink. Later that night, he exclaimed to his prime minister: 'I can lead a horticulture but I can't make her think!'

Classic roundtable banter.

Here's another one, "I named my bird Onan because he spills his seed on the ground."

Anyway off to watch the football. Considering todays matchup is Chicago vs Green Bay it could turn into a punting competition.

Yes, but some seasons later, his illegitimate son by that same flower, callously abandoned to the street by his royal sire, staged a revolution!

In the wake of the coup, the king tried to organize a resistance movement, but, as everyone knows...

As for the nekkidity on this thread, I say abolish

AARRR! I tend to got sit in the rafters when I feel the need for some punning.

Once there had been a wizard of great skill, but of little social epitutde. Being shunned by his peers, made him quite sad, so he made his home in a remote mountain. So far in the mountain, none came to see him, save the animal inhabitants of the mountain.
After many years of lacking companionship, the wizard perfected a spell giving animals the ability to speak as we humans do.
First he tried to converse with the mountain goats, but found that while they did speak, they spoke only of having female companionship as it was the rutting season.
He then spelled bird, and found it only wanted to know were the rest of its flock was.
Finally, disparing of any intelligent conversation, he spelled a rodent that he had caught while it had been trying to steal his supper. To his surprise, the rodent was lively and intelligent and willing to learn.
So for many a day, wizard and rodent, conversed about things from the nature of the universe to the merits of communities.
As a celebration of his success, the wizard conjured a feast with many wonderful and interesting foods that his new-found companion had never seen.
"What manner of food is this?" his dimunitive friend asked as it pointed to a confection.
Surprised, the wizard replied, "Why, that's a pie, rat."

There was a king who lived on a tropical island
in a magnificent thatched palace. His subects brought tribute on special occasions, such as his
birthday, or the anniversary of his rule.

These gifts were many and varied: food, animals,
cloth, canoes, even furniture. Often, thrones
were brought as gifts.

The king was able to use or distribute everything
but the thrones, which he put up in his attic,
where they gathered, year after year.

One night the accumulated weight of the thrones
broke the ceiling rafters, causing the collapse
of the entire palace, and squashing the king.

Moral: People who live in grass houses shouldn't
stow thrones.

Oy -- can't come up with a swiftie right at the

Wondering if we shouldn't adjourn this thread

Okay, bun here ya go:

Arrr, mateys. In the grand pirate tradition, I've siezed control of this vessel, er thread, and have made the following arbitrary decision:

1.) That the pirates and punsters both win each for their own brand or torture.

2.) Pirates shall continue to ravage and plunder helpless double posts in search of booty!

3.) Punsters and Tom Swifties shall be granted their own thread here: http://www.fireflyfans.net/thread.asp?b=2&t=24056
