Whoa. I wonder if they're trying to get into the Browncoat buying frenzy right before the Big Damn 'Versary.

If anyone's feeling particularly generous, go and buy an extra one and donate it to the people over at http://www.whedonverse.org They can always use extra copies. And this price is a steal!

May have been the losing side. Still not convinced it was the wrong one.

Great price! I will have to pick up a couple of more for gifts.

Target's normal price is like $39.99 or close to that. $18.99 is a great sale price.

Guess it's Target for me come Thursday (payday).

Dang...I should have waited another week before buying my replacement copy last week. *sigh*

OTOH--am gonna buy a spare so I'll actually not be FF-less when recruiting.

Great! Now I can afford to replace my retired autographed copy (I'm a college kid on a budget, so Target's helping fuel my addiction). Maybe I should pick up two, just in case someone needs to be converted in the coming weeks...

ndrage85,

I don't know if it was just the Target I was at, but Serenity Widescreen was on sale for $10.00. I picked up the last Firefly at that store for a friend and I couldn't resist picking up a Serenity too.

Thanks for posting!!

And it is not just a Firefly/Serenity sale. Tons of DVDs are on sale.

I hope they restock Firefly or that people can get rainchecks. Don't know if Target does that.

yeah, Serenity wasn't an advertised sale, but if you found it for $10, i'm sure it's probably the same everywhere else. Target does that. They show like 6 movies that are on sale, and then in small print they say that other titles are also available. So i always go to Target to check it out, because they're always putting good movies on sale. and as far as rainchecks go, Target usually does rainchecks on a lot of their movie sales, which is good.

On the one hand, it's kinda cool that you can buy it for that cheap, nut then on the other hand, why are they practically giving away our show?? They're like, treating it like some crappy show that no one liked! Does anyone else feel this way, or am I simply going crazy...

Don't feel that way. Target is having a sale on *ALL* their TV DVDS and a lot of their movies. It is not just Firefly $18.99 and Serenity WS $10.00.

It is just that we don't care that any of the other TV DVDs or movies are on sale.

KAELE above mentioned the
http://www.whedonverse.org project.

"The Whedonverse Multimedia Project seeks to donate DVDs of Joss Whedon's Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Angel the Series, Firefly and Serenity to public libraries and other charitable organizations.

If you've donated Buffy, Angel, or Firefly/Serenity DVDs or Books to a public library or other charitable organization, please submit the details of your contribution to our tally. We would like to showcase the generosity of the fandom. "

They accept donations of cash or DVDS.

Check with your local library. Do they have
Firefly and Serenity? Tell them about the
deal at Target.

yeah, like the other poster said, it's not just Firefly. Target has sales on their TV DVDs all the time. This week they had Firefly, all the seasons of Seinfeld, Arrested Development season 1, Rescue Me seasons 1 & 2, Grey's Anatomy season 1, The Office season 1, 24 season 1, and a bunch of other DVDs on sale for $18.99. Heck, that's good company to be in, so the sale really has nothing to do with the show. like i said, they just put DVDs on sale quite often. which is good for me, because i've bought a number of them in the past. like all 4 seasons of 24 when Target had them on sale for cheap.

Gorram it!

I was just in Target last night and bought two copies of Firefly at sale price for gifts. Wish I had known that Serenity was on sale for $10 & I would have picked up a couple of copies of it as well. Can always use them as gifts or give aways at parties or conventions.

Yeah, thanks, I suppose that does make me feel better, I just think y'know if they can justify selling Star Trek for over $100, why not Firefly?

I ran into Target yesterday to get a copy of both Firefly and the BDM. Serenity was SOLD OUT but I was able to pick up a copy of the series. I also convinced a lady that was there browsing to buy a copy of FF. I made sure to tell her that there was a movie and if she liked the series to look for it next time she was at Target.

Always looking to spread the word.

Bought two of each on Thursday but had to go to multiple stores as the first one didn't have it, which had they sold out would have been fine, but they didn't even have a spot for the BDM to be in to start.

It takes all kinds to make the world go ‘round. Unfortunately, some are pedaling in the wrong direction...

Thankyou a million times over for this post. I originally bought the series on Amazon and was sorely disappointed when it came to me terribly scratched, especially Disc One. Until three days ago, I'd never seen "Bushwacked" in it's entirety. I even sent the seller an e-mail, giving him/her a chance to rectify the problem. He told me to contact Amazon for a refund. Great service.

Anyway, thanks again. You're my hero.

I'm trying to put this as delicately as I can... how do I know you won't kill me in my sleep?

Eeek, that is scary. Like they won't restock Serenity after it sells out. Target seems to always keep Firefly in stock.

Walmarts in my area are sold out and not restocking Serenity.

Target, FYE, Best Buy and Circuit City still have Serenity.

Yeah, Wal-marts never have anything; they don't have firefly, when they do have Serenity in stock it's near impossible to find, and they're the beginnings of Blue Sun! I see no good in them.

Thanks very much for the heads-up , N-D ! When I went to the Tar-jay they had 5 copies on the shelf . I nicked 3 of 'em to give away . One is going to go to my branch library to recruit some new Browncoats . So far I've gotten 5 Firefly boxsets and 8 copies of the movie , not that anyone is keeping score !

I'd found my most recent prior boxset at Sam's Club at about the same price as Target , but it was the last one (which is good !) , and I let it go to someone who really needed it !

If not for your post , I wouldn't have known about the Target sale ! So you really deserve kudos and I think you should be drafted to the Browncoat Signal Corps ! Thanks for doing your part to Share the Love ! You're my B.D.Hero now !

I hadn't been able to find Firefly at that particular Target for well over a couple of months (again, there hadn't even been a spot open for it on the shelf) so I was amazed they actually had it in last week. Serenity, they didn't even bother to get in for the sale. I'm thinking I'll not go to that Target anymore. There's another one about the same distance from me that has kept both in stock continuously all year.

I've yet to see Firefly or Serenity at any Walmart. Circuit City, I don't trust much. They put something on sale, advertise it and then the distribution center sends three copies to each store. Best Buy is consistantly the best for keeping them both in stock regardless of the location of the store.

Haven't seen Firefly in a Target in a long time, and so I went to a Target Greatland with the SOUL purpose of finding the DVDs. Lo and behold they were there, with several others.

Went to the checkout counter and met a Browncoat. Incredible. Can't stop the signal.

Gelassenheit means Serenity
