Getting new converts from the BDM being seen on HBO

America loves a winner!

Not major news, but I find it kinda neat. I post on other non-sci fi boards, with various Firefly sigs. Despite my non-stop talking up of the BDM, I only got a few comments from other posters who had seen Serenity. Everyone one was positive, of course. But it's been nearly a year since the release, and I'm still getting messages and seeing posts from folks who've just seen the BDM.

Dunno what effect this has for getting the next movie made, but it's good to know the signal can't be stopped.

People love a happy ending. So every episode, I will explain once again that I don't like people. And then Mal will shoot someone. Someone we like. And their puppy. - Joss

Hopefully made a convert today.

I was in the local mall,in the Halloween costume store, just trying on costumes with my daughter. We were waiting for a dressing room and the guy working there (dressed up as a gangster)asked about my Firefly t-shirt and told him about Firefly and Serenity. Said he'd give it a try.

I seemed to have more success in Greenville, the home of East Carolina University where there's a lot of young people and not here in Washington.

BTW I tried on a Wonder Woman costume on a dare from my daughter-just doesn't look too good on a middle aged woman.

I hopefully converted one today. Kid from class' birthday so I got him the BDM at the local Wal-Mart. Now just to wait and see.

well if anyone mentions having liked the movie then be sure to pimp the DVDs for Firefly to them,
because they may not realize it was based on a TV show!
No one can truly be converted until they have seen ALL the DVDs,
several times.

This is so true. I know a Serenity fan at work who saw the movie when it came out and I brought in my Firefly The Official Companion and he kept saying I don't remember that...I don't remember this.

EEEK, he didn't know about the TV series. I grabbed my book back from him. Lucky that was last week when Target had Serenity WS DVD on sale for $18.99.

Thanks for the complement but it doesn't belong to me. About 3 months ago there were a lot of banners posted in the Blue Sun Room and this was one of them. I think Desktop Hippie did it. I just can't figure out how to do them myself.
