Hi, everybody
i just thought i would tell you about my first Serenity Starfury convention experience. Now having never been to any of the others i can't compare the quality of this one to them, so all i can do is tell what i liked and what i didn't. I'll start with the good stuff

The Talks - i enjoyed these so much, i laughed my arse off. Everybody was so funny and seemed to be enjoying themselves, my particular favourite being Sean and Jewels talk which also happened to be the last talk. This was all completely new to me and to hear them telling stories and answering some fantastic questions was just brilliant, so i thank everbody who got up to ask questions as there were some real corkers.
Now i happen to be incredibly shy so i had to pluck up the courage to have my photo taken with Sean, Morena and Jewel and i must confess that my heart has never beat so fast as when i was one person away from having my picture taken with Morena. I did for one moment think i might have a heart attack and i'am only 26 years old, but it was great to have the photos taken and i'am pretty pleased with them especially my picture with Jewel as she hugged me when i told her how nervous i was, all in all a good experience.
On the Friday we arrived my cousin Emma and i walked about a mile down the road to a pub called The Three Magpies and had a really good meal so we decided to go again at about 12.30 on the sunday. So we were sitting at our table and emma looks at me and starts to whisper something, it turns out that sean and jewel are sitting in the corner of the pub eating fish and chips, we wanted to say Hi to them but thought it was the wrong thing to do as it was probably the only spare time they had allday so we kept our mouths shut. The amazing thing was when we went to get our autographs from Sean he immediately reckonised us from the pub and asked us what we had eaten and if we thought it was any good, he also seemed to really appreciate that we didn't want to disturb them and that it can sometimes be awkward with fans approaching them at certain unwanted times as they do not want to upset fans or appear to be rude,but he was a incredibly nice guy. Jewel however did not reckonise us until we told her we were in the pub, she also asked us what we had and told us that she did not enjoy her fish as it had far to much batter, she was so sweet and a joy to talk to.

Right now i'am going to say what i thought was bad about the convention.
Poor organisation - we get to the main hall and get our passes but theres no schedule of events, just bits of paper stuck to the walls scattered all over the place with tiny bits of information on them.
A tuck shop charging £1.00 for a bag of crisps, autograph queues a mile long hardly moving, they were simply trying to get to many people in at once. It took about an hour before i could even join the queue and about 45 minutes after that to get to any guests. Even the photo queues on saturday were getting out of control and i think i was probably in there for over an hour, it was just insane.
Which now brings me to the moment when i almost went apeshit. I had taken with me a large 12x20 inch cast photo that Alan, Ron and Nathan had been happy to sign at other events, i was told that it would not be allowed to be signed as it was not a official item. It was exactly the same cast photo they were giving away when purchasing so many individual photos, its just mine was much larger. Really what they were saying was because i had not brought it from them i could not have it signed, neither there cast photos or mine had the firefly/serenity logo on them, so they were talking BULLSHIT. I ended up just letting it go as i was not going to let them twats ruin my weekend that i had been looking forwards to since January. My cousin also was denied having her personal item signed which again had been signed by Alan and Nathan.
Anyway its late and i have to go to bed. I kinda have a love/hate thing going on with this convention, in many ways it was awesome but i do not like being lied to and told complete crap. I'am very interested to hear other peoples opinions on this Convention good and bad, anyway goognight.
