Oh, and NV, I have socks...lots and lots of socks. Wool ones, comfy ones, sassy ones. I love socks. I'll share the more 'manly' ones with you anytime.

*Rugbug wanders off thinking about how wonderful socks really are.*

I cannot communicate how important socks are in my life. Maybe I was a sock monster in my previous life.

RugBug, your membership here won't ever lapse. Interested in another email correspondence? I'm not a threat at all...email is just fine by me!

Alright, all, out for the night soon. One more day of work, then we spend the weekend moving the ex out of my house...then it's all mine! Muwahahaha!
Oh, and I'm thinking of redecorating the basement/bar/living room as a sort of cross between Inara's shuttle and the Maidenhead pub...I may need some ideas and input from y'all.

NVG - You gotta take me time! It is important. More important then you realize. You have to take breaks and clear your head. Otherwise you will not be as much fun to be around. Your patience will be nonexistant and bad things will follow. I am not saying you will be all violent and such. But depression could set in, sickness from stress, heck heart attack from stress, high blood pressure. There are alot of things that could become very bad with out that me time break.

tristan - the only thing you need is Inara!

Too bad there is no electronic pool table yet. You should put in a pool table and put up the "Not responible for ball failure" sign anyways. Maybe a holographic Bar window? Getting thrown through windows, what a gas!

So anyways, I like the idea. May need to make for a road trip just to see it.

On the me time, I'm feelin' it. But its also been a few weeks since I've been able to spend enough time outside so that may be it.

KelKhil, if you can get ahold of her, let me know!

NVG, I was going to put something similar to that sign over the dartboard... Holographic bar window...I'll look into one of those! And when you do make the road trip, I'll have a room for you!

Zeek - yeah, she lives in CA and I live in TX. I've had my share of long distance relationships, but this one is different in that I've known her for like 10 years. She's my best friend's cousin, and well, the timing was just kind of right.

Rugbug - Hey you! Yeah, I've been busy with lots of real life stuff. I had a very bad ankle injury back in March, and I just recently started getting physical therapy on it. I know, I waited a long time, but better late then never!

Marina - It's kind of an interesting situation in regards to formality. On the one hand, I've known her for years and we're quite comfortable talking with each other. On the other hand, we've changed the nature of our relationship so we're new in the romantic sense. I think I kind of just have to play it by ear.

Why do guys want to meet right away? Well, it could be a number of things, including that of sizing you up and what not. It could also just be that they're lonely. But, I would be cautious about meeting up right away with a stranger on the internet. I personally like to correspond a little while before setting up a date, and talk on the phone a lil bit too.

So, you work all day and take care of kids all night and you're wondering why you can't find some me time like your babysis who just takes care of the kids all day? You don't seem to be seeing the problem here. You're doing double the work. That's why you're tired and don't have any time man.

I know it probably doesn't help at all, but you're being a really responsible person. Those kids are blessed to have someone like you in their lives to help them out.

Okay, so I'm half joking saying this.
I am very tired of so many people saying how good and responsible I am. I've been called sweet and a six foot angel in the last twelve hours. People are constantly complimenting me on how good I am and I can't stand it. I feel like I gotta keep it up or my credibility with folks will change.

Yeah it's the time in which both roomies are at school and I don't work I guess. Makes sense. Life is beautiful and all but I desperately need these few hours as space to do what I feel like doing.

Also does anyone know how to break the news (gentely) to someone that they're not in fact load master of the universe? Just a question.

Hey NV~Guess what? I wuvvers your adorable wittle guts out!

As for the load master thing, I'd tell 'em straight up.

My best friend and now roommate is driving me insain. He can't seem to understand why he isn't getting what he wants from girls. I want to scream because you act like a self important asshole! No actually he's a great guy and I love him to pieces but I'm starting to see the downside of too much self confidence.

Oh well I loved hearing about the chitlins dear. You really are just the sweetest thing!

This statement really bothers me. I don't like that idea that you have to hide certain parts of yourself and wait until it's 'the right time' to get it out there. If something makes someone uncomfortable straight off the bat, it's bound to make them uncomfortable later on, it's just a matter of when. Maybe you get really involved with someone and then find out something that really bothers you, but you want to make it work because now you're all head over heels devoted, so you try to accept it or work around it or ignore it, but it just keeps bothering you and bothering you and making your nerves raw so more and more things bother you and then the relationships ends in a huge explosion of "You bother me!" and there's broken hearts all around.
Bitter? Who?
Anyway, I always loved talking on the phone. Or talking in person. Or whatever. I think I mentioned I really, really can't get enough of someone I love. At least I haven't so far. Ged, sweetie, you really shouldn't worry about it. Since you're far away, it's best to keep in touch
I've tried internet dating a few times. I have yet to have any success with it. I've gone on a few dates with guys I met on those sites. I e-mailed them a lot first. Dates were still a bust. I would be freaked out if a guy wanted to meet me right away. I'd be like 'I don't know anything about you! Back the hell off!'
I, too, love socks. I love to have socks that match what I'm wearing, and I'm always sad when theperfect pair of socks gets a hole in them. Heh. I wouldn't share, though. My socks!
I'm trying to imagine how the Maidenhead decor could meld at all with the lushness of Inara's shuttle. I have no idea how that would work.
And the huffy little penguin is cuter than anything a human can do!

Anyway, I'm going to have a girl's night out. See you all later on!

MAGDALENA

"No power in the 'verse can stop me!"

Hello All!

NVG - awwwww, I missed you! Take care you sweet, gorgeous, tall, dark and handsome angel-man you! ... sorry I couldn't resist...

... and you cook! *sigh*

Internet dating - I have had so amny friends tell me I should try it but then I look at the sites and they freak me out. As I am a Christian some friends suggested I try Christian dating sites, but they freaked me out more I think - the guys were all looking for some really right-wing, Bible bashing type - that I am not!! One friend signed up and then sent me an email she received - this guy read her profile and basically sent her an invitation to move to the other side of the country because he ..."knew God was telling him that he had to marry her and his intentions were pure and she would be crowned the queen in the palace of his heart forever..." ... eeep!

So - I love corresponding with people, friends and others - I wrote a lot of snail mail to friends and family when I lived in the UK in 1995, and now that I have a new family here at FFF.net I am loving all the correspondence! (Thank you - you all know who you are!)

Having said that nothing compares to the smell, touch or sight of someone I'm attracted to, and I love the sound of a man's voice... so much is expressed in the tone and rythym of a man's voice... *sigh* I seriously loved James Earl Jones just because of his voice... Raul Julia... even that 'dissapointing ex' (who's been alluded to here) had a way sexy voice! Phone conversations are wonderful - and once a day is pretty awesome really! I felt special if someone just phoned me and said "I had 5 minutes & thought I'd see how your day is going..." Makes me feel that I'm special enough to go to the trouble of picking up the phone for! So - go for it Ged! I am so glad that you're happy! And I have known some friends in terrific relationships that were stronger for the long distance thing!

Honesty is key - definitely - but it's always tricky to know what to reveal and when... I guess it's just a matter of feeling your way through it all - there are lots of pitfalls in any relationship, especially when it's new, but just be ope, honest and share the bad when it comes up, along with the good...

And now that I have convinced you all of that - let me add that I am a 39-year-old single nanny from Melbourne, who doesn't really have a clue, and you are all on the other side of the world - so write to me!!

Lunch time here! mwaaah - Magda x x x
