AJS

Umm... Hi! I've been lurking on the boards for a while now, but I've been on all night looking for material for my paper on Firefly and finally could not resist the urge to join.

I discovered Firefly with the movie, my friend who was really into it told me I had to go see it and I did. And I totally fell in love, abducted the series from my friend who owned it and had never saw it, told everyone I knew to see it and... basically became vaugely obsessed.

My name is Alexandrea Jane S., you can see by the title I'm not real creative tonight, heh. Any variation of the name works, Alex, Lexa, AJ, AJS, hell, even Jane or something.

Sorry this is so rushed and run-on-sentancey, I have to go finish my paper so I'm kinda writing on the run. :D

Welcome Aboard Alex,
It's always great to hear how people found out about the 'Verse. Sounds like there is a bit of the larceny in you. "abducted the series from my friend" I think you'll fit right in.

We are a friendly bunch, so if you need anything at all, just get on the Cortex and send us a Wave.

Thanks for the warm welcomes! I already feel at home and I'm looking forward to the next chance I get to actually explore and start posting around. :)

*grins* Yeah, pretty much. I'm... well, a poor teenager who's parents can't get them all the cancelled TV series they get attatched to (okay, two... neither of which lasted longer than two seasons, and both of which had writers whos' other shows did a hell of a lot better and I found a hell of a lot less interesting [Joss Whedon, Firefly vs Buffy; Aaron Sorkin, Sports Night vs West Wing]... huh... I'm now seeing a trend here). So I just "borrow" them and forget to give them back for a few weeks at a time. I swear, when I actually get a job, first thing I'm buying is the DVDs...

...And I'm done rambling! XD

Welcome home AJS. You're #22994!

It's right shiny to have you here among us.

I'm on strawberry duty most of the time, so
please accept this dish of our very finest
and wash it down with a mug of Mudder's Milk
from this here-now jug.

The buffet is up in the galley, ready for
questioning. I think somebody is just now
fixing up some fresh fruit to go alongside
the other goodies. It's a constant job as
more of us come aboard.

You'll probably be offered your own virtual
browncoat before very long. The mistress of
the coats is a mite busy with the Serenity
'Versary at the moment but makes the occasional
patrol, looking for the un-coated.

Best of luck with that paper!

Then come back and discuss, question, and caption
to your heart's content.

bun
9/30 HAPPY ANNIVERSARY, SERENITY!!!!

SHROUDED

Shiny! Welcome to the 'verse, Alex! 'Tis an honor to meet you! I'm Carrie, or Chaka, but I mostly go by Shrouded 'round these parts. It always warms my heart to see new Browncoats comin' over here to good ol' FFF.net.

Make yourself at home; have a cup of tea in Inara's shuttle, play a round of Tall Cards in the commons area, whatever ticles your fancy.

I just burn Firefly for whichever friends want to see it and I tell them that if they really like it and would like to see more than they should buy it and show their support. I think that most of the TV shows on DVD are horribly overpriced (like X-Files at $105.00 per season until recently), so I think that it's asking a lot to tell one of your friends or anybody else to buy it for $40.00 before they even saw it.

I bought seasons 1 and 2 of Arrested Development, and other than Firefly, that's the only TV show I have on DVD. I never buy them myself and I usually just download them and give them to my friends and family(it's nice having all of the commercials removed, complements of the cyber-pirates). I bought Arrested Development to show my support for the funniest show on TV and then FOX ran about 8 episodes of the 3rd season one night and just killed it. Fox is great at finding material that viewers will love and then destroying it. FOX is the cure for happiness. I'm just glad they didn't cancel Married With Children early or Al Bundy would never have started the National Organization of Men Against Amazonian Masterhood. (NO MAAM!)

I think Joss should start his own network. He already has the fanbase. Bring firefly back as internet webisodes and let the Browncoats pay for what they want to see... not to line the pockets of some boneheads at FOX that are just going to cancel all the good shows anyways....

Sorry... I hijacked your thread and started to ramble again. If you see me around you'll know that I do that on occasion. Welcome aboard Alexandrea. (Did I just say welcome aboard? I feel like I should be going to a Star Trek Convention. Firefly has brought out the geek in me.)

TRAVELER

Welcome AJS.

Herein lies the rub. You are a Browncoat. Not much of a rub is it. Well we try. One post and you've pasted your test. We are short and tall, male and female, young and old, and we laugh and cry, so you have just added to our diverse verse. I see your in school and that will take up a lot of your time, but join us and post so we get to know each other.

And once again welcome.

We're from all around the globe, and if you're anything like me you will makes friends that mean the world to you here!

These strawberries are divine - I don't know where FloralBunny gets them... (Hi FloralBunny!) I know FollowMal will bring you a browncoat of your own soon - but the coat does not the 'browncoat' make...

It's terrific to have you here - love, Magda x x x
