FGAB

I have had many friends tell me about Firefly and I was given the DVD set to watch. I stayed up late 3 days to see the whole thing as fast as I could.... I get it :) I just finished viewing all of the Special Features and went online to find you guys.

I am a long time libertarian activist with a M-F talk show in Phoenix, Arizona. Even though I use the political process to get the freedom message out I know that it is the individual that makes history. Efforts like Firefly will have a far greater impact on the freedom movement than anything a suit at a podium can accomplish. I know freedom supporters when I see them, and the people behind this series and its supporters are definately people I want to help spread the message.

So. I have a 50,000 watt signal that covers 90% of the population in Arizona that is available to any fan of firefly for 2 hours that can get Joss Wheldon to come on the show with them to talk about the world he created... and why he created it the way he did.

My web page will answer most of your questions and give you an idea of why I want to help and what resources I can employ in the effort.

I hope to hear fom someone soon.

BROWNCOAT1

May have been the losing side. Still not convinced it was the wrong one.

Wow!

Thanks for posting FGAB. Glad you liked the DVD set.

I can't speak for Joss, but hopefully ME or Joss himself will see this post and take advantage of the generously offered time. Of course Joss finding free time may well be a monumental task. Last he posted, he was extremely busy.

yep joss is the busiest man in the world but it does seem like a great opportunity. If the right people get hold of this info though they maybe be able to inform joss and if he cant make it maybe someone else linked the show could.

Thanks for responding. I'll be around a while so we can set something up weeks in advance and promote it heavily. I have a chatroom for the show and the Internet Streaming can support hundreds (haven't hit thousands yet :) All of the shows are archived so it would be available to everyone for when they could get to it.

I'll leave this in the fans hands to take care of this so others can join in on the fun.

I'm really excited about this happening for Joss and all of his fans.

One of my tag lines on the show after pointing out a particularly bad government action (which is a lot) is, "Freedom Good, Government Bad" That's why I thought to use the Tag FGAB... Government/Alliance, it's all the same thing.

I think Joss understands another phrase I use a lot on the show, "There are two types in the 'verse. There are those that wish to be left alone, and those that will not leave them alone. This is how you can tell the good guys from the bad guys... who "they" are".

I hope that I help the effort as much as I am able, because I know what the overall impact is going to be of the movie if they keep to the original idea and standards and stay with the principles that Joss has done such a good job showing. But make no mistake, There will be studio execs that are supporters of the Alliance and will wish them to be seen as the "essential evil" that keeps the 'verse from blowing up. I have no doubt that the suits want to make use of the fan base created. What I fear are the conditions they may have. The script is what makes the show as good as it is... so that's where they'll attack.

Glad to see another libertarian browncoat! I think it would be wonderful to talk to Joss about any libertarian or anti-authoritarian philosophies Firefly conveys. Let us know if you get an interview.
