An article saying that there will be no SERENITY SEQUEL was written by the guy whose info I put at the end of this post on slashfilm, then picked up by other pseudo-movie news places.

Please bear in mind that a lot of lazy people who like movies decide to "Be involved" with the movie industry by throwing their opinions around in a crappy website but these people have no special access to hollywood, they just SPIN things they see on the internet. The ACTUAL post made by Joss on Whedonesque.com said they had no talks going for a sequel (no surprise- we've all been aware of that), and htat he wanted to "put the rumour to bed".

For the record, the "writer" at slashfilm who wrote such crap didn't even bother to back up his "research" when he said that "Serenity hasn't even made back it's $39M production costs".

SERENITY made it's production cost almost entierely back at the end of it's worldwide release (imdb.com). By now, especially wth the recent 'Versary, DVD sales and PPV, Rentals, etc. THat total should have put SERENITY in the black by at least some margin (if anyone has the numbers, they would be appreciated).

Those Joss Whedon Serenity sequel comments. In light of the growing coverage of Joss' comments made here at the weekend, here's a special one-off Whedonesque blog entry for posters to discuss the remarks and indeed the coverage as well.

If you missed all the fun, at the weekend Joss responded to the latest Serenity sequel rumour and quite rightly knocked it on the head. Several sites picked up on what he said and took his remarks to mean that there would be never be a sequel to Serenity. This, in turn, has unsettled a number of people in the fandom.

I am going to be perfectly crude and to the point here: F*ck him, hard and hostile.......hand him over to a truck full of Reavers all hopped up on Viagra and Crystal meth!Where did his numbers come from? If everyone on this site alone went out and bought the series DVD's and the BDM< that alone should put us well in the black......maybe not Jmaes Cameron level in the black, but james Cameron plays to a broader audience, but surely not loosing money!

There is an a**hole in every crowd who wants to spoil things for everyone else, and this seems to be ours!
