You may be interested to know that there is an informal poll in progress in the Bad Astronomy / Universe Today forums ( www.bautforum.com). It's in the final round, and Firefly is among the finalists.

Now, I'm not in favor of ballot stuffing, but if you happen to enjoy astronomy and other science topics you'd probably like BAUT. It's my (other) online home.

If you want to vote in the poll, you'll need to register on the site. Then go to the "Small Media At Large" forum and you'll find the "Best SF TV Series" poll thread.

The final round just got started; when I voted there had been only 4 votes -- three for Babylon 5, and mine.

I do see some familiar nicks with extremely low post counts in that thread... nice work.

Firefly is now leading the poll, over second place Babylon 5. ST-TOS and ST-TNG are battling for third. Still pretty light voting so far. Interestingly, there have been a couple comments from folks who never heard of Firefly before this poll. I think I smell some new Browncoats in the making.

In earnest, I think we'd be winning that poll even without the crossover votes from here. BAUT has some pretty smart and savvy members. I hope you folks will stick around and join in on any threads that interest you. Lots of great debunking goes on in the Conspiracy Theories forum, which is one of my favorite areas.

By the way, BAUT is a family-friendly site, and courtesy is not just a good idea there. Not that any of my fellow 'coats would ever use foul language or personal attacks!

Then I went there and read that post about
