Time for another new thread.

Old one is still available at http://www.fireflyfans.net/thread.asp?b=2&t=24746

Anyone got a new ponderance for us?

Ooooh, neko brought up microfiber undies! Those are nice. Don't look as sexy, but they feel pretty nice.
And punishments for chicks who play games... Got nothing to add to that.
And a lot of folk are still sick... *drinks pomegranate juice like water*
Don't see anything else. I should be able to think of a ponderance, but... But I can't! Who has something?

Hey everyone! It's been a lovely Monday here in Melbourne - hope it bodes well for my Imponderers the world over...

So Whitefall - that is kind of what I meant - just holding open the door for folk is a good start - but if you are in the right place at the right time you can make them feel extra special!

Mei Mei - I noticed the reference to microfibre too but forgot to mention it - yes... it feels good...

So - *ahem* I am glad the date went so well Tristan... ...No seriously - you deserve it!

Hi Nico!! good to see you!

So... what are we pondering???

and HUGS for PR and FMF and Tristan and NV and...oh I could just keep going and going
Ok it's a good think the hugs are virtual because the dratted sinus infection has now winnowed into my lungs ( stupid useless immune system) so now I have to desperately hope to get a substitute ( if I don't I have to go teach unless I'm in the hospital) and head to the doctor...argh oh well
So what are we pondering?

How about what one movie most fully represents how your life usually works??

For me that'd be One Fine Day- I don't have a kid yet, but the constant runnign with plans scattering to the winds and timing that is continuously off somewhow making life more stressful- and yet still fun, is me:)

You know, using my hair dryer would be so much easier without one of my cats...this cat (DJ-short for Daniel Jackson) loves the hair dryer. Every time I use it, he comes running in and wants me to use the dryer on him. He loves the warmth. So he'll roll about and expose his tum and then turn to one side then the other ( for even warming on all sides)

Ok and I just heard a technology fact that stunned me...did you know that on today's date ( oct 23rd for us Yanks)in 2001 the apple ipod was first introduced. I can't believe it's been such a short time and our culture is already so over-run...holy smack that's a short time for such a take-over ( not that I don't have an ipod and love it soooo much)

I don't think I have a film that sums up me or my life... I can think of lots of moments in films that I relate to... or wish I could capture in my own life...

Let me ponder coz I'll either think of lots or nothing... you wait and see...

EDIT: LOL at the image of your cat DJ... is he as cute as his namesake?

I'm thinking still... the last film I saw in the cinema was 'The Lake House'... *sighs*

Morning, all.
Of course, work would not be work if it did not pile up over the two days that I have been gone. Looks like I will need a leaf blower to get this desk cleared off! Could be fun, though...

Thank you, Magda...I think...

MSG, I am sorry to hear that you caught the dread ick bug. I offer hope that it does not last long.
A movie that represents my life? Wow...that would take some thinking. My first inclination was Money Pit, but life has been better than that lately. Huh. I'm not really sure...

Wow, five years of the ipod.

Magda, The Lake House would be a good summation, wouldn't it?

Magda, you will have such a blast, not only at D*C, but the whole visit will be wonderful. Assuming you make it to Alabama, I will enjoy showing you around! Not sure what we'll do for the rest of the day (not much to see!), but it will be fun!

Thanks MAgda- BIG HUGS

Tristan- I've had it for two weeks it just keeps getting worse because Ican't take a day off...I don't mean this in the I feel I should work sense. I mean this in the I've signed a contract that states that unless I am hospitalized I CANNOT take a day off unless I get a sub and there's a serious substitute shortage so I've been unable to get one.
Right at this moment I have a 102 degree fever, I am struggling to breathe, I've had two hours of sleep, and I feel like death, but here I sit in my classroom because yet again no sub could be found....however on the bright side it's gone to my lungs so within the next week I should likely end up in the hospital so it won't matter that I can't find a sub:) See positive attitudes are good...sorry I'm just super cranky right now 'cause I'm so sick and I'm still having to be here

Don't get me started on the Education system...Is there such a dearth of subs in your area and that's why they put it in the contract or is yours a standard contract one might find anywhere? Or are they making things just plain difficult for the people who are doing the most honorable work? I have the same issues with nursing. And then there's the whole heroic occupations...Don't get me started.

Thanks ever so Jonny. Sadly for teachers that's a standard contract. Because there has to be a live adult supervising the children no matter what, we have to be here unless we find another adult to stand in for us. Yes there's a shortage of subs...the job requires a high school diploma and pays $65 a day so it's hard to get people. Yeah nurses, cops, doctors, firefighters, etc... short stick for very important jobs... yet we pay the nice men who can jump and push a tiny ball through a net millions and only ask them to work 1/2 the year...shows what we value:)

'Til this morning I shall say. I forgot to add that (ducks to avoid hurled objects).

Had no one to really talk to since Saturday night. Hung out with GND, BabySis, and some family friends after my little "outing" Saturday night. I didn't really talk with anyone about the evening but I did stay up late watching movies with GND. I can't really say my friends abandoned me. My bestest friend had a friends significant other die this weekend and is understandably grief striken. But (trying not to sound selfish) I'm still alive and needed a friend last night.

So, I met her at the place. Shot some fairly good games of pool (One with her), and kinda got ignored for a bit. She was on the phone on several occasions. Some asshole and his bitch started some beef and I ignored them well enough but she disappeared to use the phone for fifteen minutes so I left. She called and left a message to call her back whilst I was picking up PsychoBilly's WIC at Wally World so I returned the call and had to leave a message. She never called back. I'm assuming she had already picked up her son from the sitter. But thats the way assumptions go. SO again, I'm stuck in inner space with all the crap I wanted to say but hadn't the chance.

Thanks for the concern folks. I didn't mean to forget y'all are my friends. I'm just very isolated right now.

Honestly, it seemed the outing was downgraded from "date" the previous Wednesday when she suggested we go out to "friends" to "whatever" that evening. I just want clarification. A means to an end. She's certainly making it easier on me. I figure I'll call her when I drop off payroll this morning (hence the lapse in posts) and force a resolution. Starting to feel more and more like discussing terms of war as I go along.

Either there will be an armistace or the dogs of war will be loosed to defeat thine enemy and collect trophy's. Seems like a harsh way to put it, but thats how I feel.

Heh...that's funny. I'm a fan of the "cut you out of my life" stance. She certainly isn't worth keeping as a friend. I wouldn't even explain anything to her...just no longer deal with her crap. If she ever calls again, just use this wonderful word that I learned and that has saved me from much grief: "NO". It's magic. Honestly.

Now I just need the chance to say, "PISS OFF!"

Not that have any qualms over calling her at work at this point in time. I wish I could just listen to you shiny folks from the get go. Sure would make things much easier.

SO here's three points to make y'all angrier:

1. Remember the last time we were supposed to do something and she showed up at MY bar with the douchebag? She never called or apologized.

2. I found out last week that everytime she suggests we do something its because he ain't around or they're having problems and needs a fall guy. She has left me out of the loop of everything. She still hasn't called back to explain Saturday night.

3. The diouche she runs around with is married. He used a plane ticket she bought for him to fly home to see his wife. And now he wants her to buy another ticket so he can come up this weekend. I'm almost inclined to plot my weekend course to steer in their direction in order to bitch slap them both. LITERALLY!

My violent urges were well spressed toward the asshole and his bitch at the bar on Sat night. But I was not feeling particularly diplomatic as I uaually am. I hate that I was more than willing to resort to violence at a moments notice. I haven't really started feeling hurt 'til this morning. (Delayed reaction I guess)
Truthfully, I had an allright day yesterday hangin' out with the kids and all and I'm generally confused as of why. Theres just alot goin' on that I need clarification on.

NVG: Ok sweetie, I consider you a friend so you are going to get a bit of honesty here. Let me start out by stating the obvious, you deserve so much better.

It sounds like you are her backup guy. This is a guy a woman uses when she has nothing else to do or wants to make someone else jealous. Don't expect any apologies from this self involved bitch. Women like this are selfish and your feelings don't matter one bit. Cut her out of your life like the malignant tumor she is and find your sweet self someone better.

Not that have any qualms over calling her at work at this point in time. I wish I could just listen to you shiny folks from the get go. Sure would make things much easier.

My mom once said to my grandmother about me: "You know, he will always have to make his own mystakes. He won't learn from us." Some of us are just wired like that. Like we got a Missouri gene or something. Drives the wife nuts.

LITERALLY!

#1 & #2 same plot different situation: Didn't call (back). Discourteous at the very least, cold-blooded is more like it.
#3 Sounds like she might be the one getting played here. Not only is she the other woman, she's paying for the privilege. If she feels anything at all for this guy, your vengence is all but assured. And 'twill be a sweet savor on your tongue indeed...

Understandably your impulse controls were already under duress; I wouldn't sweat it too much yet. If it becomes routine, you might want to rethink your state of mind.

While I understand what MsG is saying about kid therapy, I also must wonder if it's not something else, too. You might have been feeling "okay" because your expectations were fulfilled (at one level) and you are free (or in the process of freeing yourself) of her influence over you and there's a kind of relief you're feeling. Not a psycho, myself, so I can't dispense professional advice. Just something to think about.

"Well, here I am."
