Hey Everyone...thank each and everyone of you! What a great thread...of course my wife now thinks I'm clinical and kept looking out from her home office to see I'm "really" okay as I laugh and giggle hysterically as I remember the scenes from your comments...

I can't believe no one mentioned either of these two scenes...Kaylee being recruited...that whole scene is very funny...Kaylee, "You're left coupling is bad I saw it when I was lying down there...on my back." The expressions of Mal and the prior mechanic Mester...priceless.

Also in the Pilot episode when Mal tells Simon that Kaylee is dead...then Simon goes running to the infirmary only to see Kaylee talking with the Preacher and he says, "He's insane." Then they cut away to the bridge and Zoe, Wash, Jane, and Mal are all there laughing and Mal is describing the look on Simon's face. Wash: "You're insane." Mal: "I'm a bad man."

Thanks again...I have to watch the series again....

Well, looks like things are going to get interesting. Define interesting. Oh god Oh god we're all going to die?

Any scene with Jayne in his hat!

Jayne again with the bet you wish we had some granades.

River looking down from the roof at the end of the movie.

Zoe: do you really think any of us are going to survive this
Jayne: I might.

Same battle, Kaylee's I'm going to live!

Wash's mantra as they fly in to land, (I often say it when I am driving through a tight gap!)

I know most are from Serenity the Movie but most of the best Series one's are already stated.

My best moment is any where Simon is with River during one of her episodes and she becomes dead serious and mocks him! classic.

Definitely the ending in Shindig after he beats Ath.

" Mercy is the mark of a great man.' (Stabs Ath) " Well i'm just a good man." (stabs him again) "Well i'm alright."

Your wife is obviously a wise and perceptive
individual.
But we browncoats love our condition and seek no
cure.
Back to the business at hand (or foot, or whatever)!
YinYang and ClioMuse have already mentioned Alan
Tudyk's fine non-verbal expression.
Go back and look at his superb work in the "Trash"
scene where YoSaffBridge is pitching her Lassiter
burglary, ending with his explosive "What's she
doing on this ship?!?!?!"

Oh, and all of Nathan's "innocence" in "Trash"
while YoSaffBridge is blathering on at Durran
Haymer. Wanna giggle every time.

I'm going to have to agree with ya there, as that's why I use it as the quote by name!

DREAMWALKER

"We shall rule over this land, and we shall call it... this land."
"I think we should call it your grave."
"Curse your sudden but inevitable betrayl."
"Hahaha, mine is an evil laugh."

And pretty much everything else that Wash says...

Wash: This landing is gonna get pretty interesting
Mal: Define "interesting".
Wash: Oh God, of God, we're all going to die?

EDISON

My top vote would have to be "I knew you let her kiss you!" followed by that priceless look on Inara's face. The whole "Mercy is the mark of a great man," sequence would be a close second for me.

Not sure how most folks react to it, but I never fail to get a kick out of Wash's blindfolded and Woody-Allenesque delivery of "Right. Less talking. She's terse. I can be terse. Once in flight school, I was laconic." Since all of Firefly's humor is character-based, Wash is the only one who could get away with such an outright joke.

Great minds think alike. My other favorite funny quote is in Our Mrs.Reynolds when Mal is eating when Wash and Zoe walk in.

WASH: Is there more where that came from?
SAFFRON: I didnt mean to make enough for your friends. But everything is layed out on the counter if you like to cook for your husband?
WASH: Wha (laughing nervously) Isnt she quaint? I'm just not hungry.

Not sure if anyone said it earlier, I looked but have been known to miss things.

I love the Alliance/Lion exchange in Objects, great as you don't often get simple mishearings in a script and they just shrug it off, makes it real which increases the laughter.

Yes, "Also unknown to me" has become a bit of a tag line in our house. And the way he starts biting his nail in nervous unconcern....

Don't forget,
Kaylee: Have good sex! What?

also from the same episode:

Fess: You mean you actually know… Jayne?
[Long pause.]
Inara: Jayne? Jayne Cobb? You're talking about Jayne Cobb?

after Inara had tried to cover for Mal...lol.

oh and:

Mal: Ship like this, be with you till the day you die.
Zoe: Because it's a death trap.

Whoa. Good tag line. :-)
The nail-nibble is the image I always get when
I think of that scene.

"Have good sex." Yes!

Also
SIMON: Are you a bounty hunter?
EARLY: No. (looks into a door) I'm a bounty hunter.

In OMR, after the initial cargo-bay scene with
Saffron, Mal walks out, asking with annoyance if
he is the only one aboard who doesn't think it's
funny. He ignores Inara, but she is visible as
he walks past, and it's clear she finds it
decidedly un-funny.

WASH: Were I not married I would take you in a
manly fashion. (To Kaylee, HoG)

ASORTAFAIRYTALE

In "Trash" when Mal and Inara are fighting:

Inara: What was the cargo?
Mal: ...They were dolls...
Inara: They were little geisha dolls with big heads that wobbled!!
Mal: Hey, people LOVE those!!!

It might not be the most funny one in the whole series, but the way he says that last line always makes me giggle.
And then there's also the one from the Our Mrs. Reynolds deleted scene with River saying that she wanted Book to marry her and Simon...that whole scene is pretty funny.

River: We'll take care of each other...I'll knit!

---------
Love keeps her in the air when she outta fall down, tells you she's hurting before she keels. Makes her a home.

GOMITHROUS

There are numerous, numerous funny moments, Joss is an amazing writer. I'd have to say: Wash- Oh my god it's groutesque! Hey there's something in a jar (I'm not sure if I got that quite right but you guys know what I'm saying). Or just Simon's face the entire Hero of Canton song in Jaynestown. Oh and the whole scene where Jayne, Zoe and Mal are at the Alliance friendly bar, "blow a knew crater in this little moon".

Mal-"Well, look at this. Appears we got here just in the nick of time! What does that make us?" Zoe-"Big Damn Heroes, Sir!"
