Alan Tudyk will be cast as a child molestor in this Thirsdays episode of CSI: Crime Scene Investigation. That pisses me off!! I wouldn't expect Wash to be a child molestor! Jayne maybe but not Wash.

Um, Alan Tudyk isn't a Firefly pilot. He just plays one on tv.

Dude has to work! Yeah to Alan working! Big YAY!

Woman, you are completely off your nut.

I just saw a commercial for the episode. He was pretty damn creepy. Maybe it'll be good to see him stretch his acting wings some more, see him be other than funny and loveable. I'll just be glad to see my "Washie" in any way shape or form. Very excited to see it!

Did anyone see the episode of "Arrested Development" Alan Tudyk was in? I had NO idea it was him until I was looking at his profile in imdb. Granted being a pastor isn't as much of a stretch as a child molester, but he has been in a fair variety of films - comedy, drama, children's, sci-fi.

Don't make faces.

Yeah, he's been in a fair number of things, some pretty darn odd I saw the Arrested Development episode (yes, I seek & stalk via cable ) and it was an unusually restrained performance, given what we're used to from him. Both times I've seen the commercial for the CSI episode, I've gotten major chills - I have no doubt whatsoever he can pull it off with convincing creepiness!
And it certainly will be awsome to see him square off against Grissom (I have followed CSI since season 1)!
Yeah, I'm a squeeing fangirl...

Whoa. Good myth.

Now I am learning about scary.

I just saw the commercial for this tonight. I blinked and did a classic double-take: "Hey, didn't that guy look a lot like Alan Tudyk???" Yep, it sure did! Spooky character. From what I saw, he'll be able to pull it off. I've never watched the show before (I'm way too squeamish), but I'm going to watch this one!

I LOVED Arrested Development when it was on, and I'm sorry that F*X has again cancelled an amazing show. However, I do [bold]love[/bold] seeing actors who normally play pretty positive roles to take a turn for the worse. Just seeing a really sexy guy play a bad guy is lovely to me. But, anybody I can appreciate. Just because it gives me a different view of their talent. Anyway, it's just a role, and he'll do other stuff I'm sure. And I'm sure he'll be wonderfully creepy.

It takes all kinds to make the world go ‘round. Unfortunately, some are pedaling in the wrong direction...

So far, he's only stated that he's a CONVICTED pedophile. Hopefully we'll find out that the accusations were false... Hey, a guy can hope, can't he? Sounds like his character has some deep insight into the criminal mind, though. I must admit to a high level of curiosity.

I'm with you, Jayne, possibly, but Wash? At least it'll be good to see him back on the tube. Now I might have a reason to watch that poorly lit show about robotic peopel with not lives who solve crimes in a fraction of the time it would normally take. Imgaine how much work they could get done if they turned on the lights!

Yes, I agree. Alan did a really good job playing a really bad man. I was so used to seeing him as Wash that I had to work hard to get my mind around him as a child molester. But, of course, he is an actor and it's good on him getting work.

Still, we need to keep on pushing to get him back on that ship.

Sitting here watching Heart of Gold - the scene where Innara meets Mal coming out of Mandy's room.

BTW - does Simon remind you of the way Wes moved when he first came onto the scene in Buffy? I mean his body mannerisms.

I knew about Book but not sure who else bit the cosmic dust in that movie. I'm planning to watch it again this weekend.

No problem, friend. I watched the whole series once and immediately looked for fellow Firefly fans. Was overjoyed to find this site! I rented Serenity early in the summer and then found the DVD's for the series. Was so disappointed that it got cancelled early - like everyone else here. I'm just grateful you folks have hung in there to keep things going.

Loved Wash in the series - he was so funny and the dinasaur thing cracked me up.! I know people like that! Too bad he came back as a pedophile but hey I hear actors like playing those bad guys. Nathan was sure a nasty character on Buffy.

He plays a really bad ass demon loving preacher named Caleb. It's in Season 7. In the commentary Joss is talking about finding someone for that part and Nathan being available. He's viscious and righteous about it, too. We're talking mean with a tude to it! That's where I first saw him which led me to Firefly.

Siri, about Nathan as Caleb:
That's where I first saw him which led me to Firefly.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
And he's leading me to Lost, at least temporarily,
for his appearance next week in the cliffhanger.
I'm doing my homework, trying to get up to speed
with the show, so as not to be totally *lost*
myself.
Back to Alan. He's a heck of an actor. All I
got of tonight's performance was the sound,
unfortunately. Anybody get a screencap or two?
Sounded definitely not-Washy. But Alanesque.
My dad (totaly firefly geek) said that Nathan Fillion played a FANTASTIC bad guy... I had stopped watchign Buffy by then. It's nice to know that Wash can do jsut as well.. The sign of an amazing actor. Comic relief on one show; twisted pedophile on another. I think he did great.
Sorry about that first line. Actually it was said by my wife last night while we watched Alan T. (Wash)on CSI. I didn't even remember that he was going to be on it until I saw a commercial for the show while watching Surviver. I can only say that I am depressed. Why? because he did a good and convencing job that's why. Now I've got this in my head and I need to water it down with something. More shows with Alan being his enjoyable funny self. I would say that about 24 new eps of firefly would cure me
It was an excellent choice to have someone who seems *so* nice and friendly to play this part - that's what was really scary, on the screen and in reality...
But I'm gonna need some full on "Wash" to get 'Fisher' out of my head!
I'm sure you can pick up Buffy Season 7 from video store. Nathan is in quite a few episodes. He played the character really well. It was the first time I learned about him. I had rented the Serenity DVD over the summer and liked it a lot but still didn't really know about Firefly - but I've been a Buffy fan for years - it was Joss talking about Nathan on the season 7 commentary that finally led me to Firefly.
In the Buffyverse people die and come back all the time. Buffy died at least twice. It takes time to make these dimensional shifts.
Alan was really really good last night. At one point I was developing a lot of sympathy for his character, then wham-they found the fruit juice, whiskey cap and mushed mushrooms, not to mention the gas can in the back seat of the car.
Saw Nathan as Caleb in Buffy this fall courtesy of Netflix. Think truly demented, evil evangelical preacher type.
It seems Joss can really pick the actors-they can do action, romance, comedy and then turn right around and portray characters that can make your skin crawl.
Nathan's first appearance on "Lost" will be
next week (Nov. 8, think). It's a Kate-related
flashback. We think he'll be her husband,
in a wedding scene.
Then the series goes on a 13-week vacation.
Then there may be more Nathan flashback in the
returning episode. No guarantee on that.
As to Alan T. : He is a talented, experienced
professional who has already portrayed a wide
range of characters on stage and screen. Last
night was simply more for us to enjoy. I can
understand wanting to wash (!) your brain out
after seeing him as that man, but it's only an
indication of how effective he is if you feel
that way. :-)
Gaaah. Ick even.
Must watch old Firefly episodes for dramatic renewal of purpose.
I will have to try really hard not to be creeped out after that episode. I had to keep reminding myself "not Wash, not Wash". And because I'm so used to seeing Alan as a good guy, I also had to remind myself that this guy was a squicky pedophile, and therefore deserving of no sympathy. May this forever be a testament to Alan's very, very superior acting ability.
