Hey everyone!

I was just wondering if there are any other musical browncoats around and what kind of music you're into. I play the electric bass and I love music so I thought I might as well ask.

I sing, and play electric guitar (Washburn, of course) and acoustic (Fender Gemini) .

Music I'm into? My favorite band (if you judge by most listened to) is the Chili Peppers, easy. I've got wide taste, from Marilyn Manson to Barenaked Ladies to Big and Rich to Slipknot to Bach.

Favorite song? 'Locomotive Breath', or 'School'. Gotta love Tull and Supertramp...

Okay wow I've found my double. I love the RHCP, I'm down with Marilyn Manson too. I like System of a Down quite a bit too. Oh and I forgot to mention I have a red Fender Precision Bass (doesn't get more cliched than that).

Well I'm getting a new one next year so it won't be much longer. I'm getting an Ibanez EDB400 in transparent black, there's a cool store by my house that sells bullet straps and I'm gonna name her "Vera". Also I wanted to run an idea by people before I did anything. The idea just popped into my head but do you think people would enjoy or benefit from a tab thread? Where people ask for tabs they want or just talk about music. If you don't the it's a good idea feel free to say so it was just a quick idea (I'm also basing it partially on the success of this post to see how many people actually play an instrument).

I've been playing guitar for almost a year now. I have a Fender DG 14S acoustic, but it's left-handed since I am. Everyone said to learn right-handed, but it just felt too weird, so the lefty thing kinda limits my guitar purchasing options. I don't know when I'll be going electric (I figure if Dylan did, I should eventually too!) since I'd like to spend some decent money...money I don't have now. I can't decide if I should get an Epi Les Paul or go all out and get a Gibson. We'll see what kind of job I get after graduating...

The guitar isn't my first foray into music, however, as I played piano for 8 years. I'm glad my parents made me do it, it's really helped in all sorts of ways, especially the music theory.

DARKFLY

I can whistle & hum theme's & would like to play the drums,not sure if that counts.Well anyway I mostly like soundtracks over bands my favorite soundtracks are Serenity,then Wing Commander(most buy),then Firefly.If I had to pick bands then my favorite is Duran Duran(I'm not 40 something,I'm actually in my teens),Franz Ferdinand(English band) is quite good,& the Kaiser Chiefs(another English band) are okay too.

Hey, scuse me, sorry, i know i'm in the wrong thread (I have all the musical talent of a long dead albatross) but someone said 'musicians' and, well... i have a weakness.

but i can be useful, if you were wanting musical tabs, get in touch with 6stringjack - he has hundreds, and hundreds of the things, and he's very big on the sharing (believe me, just don't get the guy started on copyright laws!)

no, he's definetly one to talk to, not sure where he's hanging around at the moment, but pm him.

Isn't sanity really a one trick pony, anyway? I mean all you get is one trick, rational thinking! But when you're good and crazy...ooh hoo hoo hoo... the skys the limit!

I'm a guitar player. Play a little fiddle. I've bene playing guitar the longest though, some years. Play in a band. Get a little better and a little worse every day. I like all types of music. A little death metal here, a little r&b there, a little blues somwplace. I try to listen to anything once, so my song list on my Mp3 player reads like the playlist of a person with multiple personalties. My top three bands are (in order): The Dixie Chicks, The White Stripes, and Jay-Z. Sometimes popular stuff sounds manufactured, but there are some that can get through the cracks with their souls in tact. I think they're some of a handful. But yeah, I listen to everything once, and play in a band. It's called Crimson Fairytales, and we try to do a relaly cool rock thing. But whether or not we're suceeding is a matter of opinion. I don't practice as often as I should, though. Has anybody written any Serenifly themed songs?
