RIVERTHRACE

Hi all, newbie here. Been skulking for a time and decided to join the online fun :).
I was wondering how everyone else sees the evolution of the 'verse since Earth-that-was.
How could you see that society continuing?

I am new. Feed me.

VERSEEXPLORER

Welcome, RiverThrace. We're glad that you found your way to FFF.net. It's a friendly group here.

I don't know how many Browncoats are around tonight. Many from the US are traveling or getting ready to travel for Thanksgiving tomorrow.

How will the 'Verse society progress after the movie? There is conjecture that the Alliance will recover after the news of their coverup. It does open up the possibility that the people on the central planets might be more apprehensive of blind government rule.

EVILBUNGLE

I see it that the Alliance will go on (Governments tend too) possibly a few small groups will look at rebuilding the war but they would fail, one twist I would have liked to have seen would be independent terrorists targetting the core planets (but as is the terrorist way) killing everyone. They then could have shown Mal's struggle between the Alliance he hates and his moral code fighting against the side he was on going too far. could have been interesting.

Do you mean from the time the 'Verse was terraformed to the time of the show? How did they decide on things like government, law, etc?

I don't know but I suspect people have come to Joss and company already with ideas on fleshing things like that out. At this point, your views on such things are just as valid as anyone else's.

I will say one thing: I like what they did with Alliance Cruisers....if a ship is designed to remain in space (i.e. never break atmo) then why wouldn't it have a more 3-dimensional shape (like a skyscraper)? It makes sense but that is not something I've seen much in sci-fi. Ships tend to resemble naval subs most of the time it seems.
