Since I live in South Fla, I was not going to attend Flanvention anyway, but after hearing what happened and the love that the stars showed to the fans, I thought the press really should hear more about this, so I wrote an email to G4/TV and this is what it said:

I have seen you guys go over all of the problems that performers have been having lately, from Danny Devito and Michael Richards, Mel Gibson and Wesley Snipes and ofcourse Britney Spears. How about some coverage of Performs behaving graciously?

On December 8th, there was supposed to be a convention for fans of the series “Firefly” and the movie “Serenity” the event was called Flanvention II. At the last minute Booster Event cancelled the event. People were all ready on there way to Southern California at the time, many of them already in flight from as far away as Australia and the UK. The local Browncoats, fearing such an occurrence had already begun making plans to help those who would show up only to find that all of their plans had crashed and burned. Even though the event had been cancelled, several of the stars of the show and movie showed up anyway, after hearing what had happened to the fans who were gathering to celebrate the franchise.

Adam Baldwin, Nathan Fillion, Alan Tudyk, Christina Hicks, Mark Shepard and Jonathon Woodward, Ron Glass, Morena Baccarin all gave freely of their time in support of the Browncoat Backup Bash and they all did so without any monetary compensation, only the love and adoration of the franchise and fans.

Many others showed up to participate in the BBB and all did so graciously and without being paid to do so, including Michael Fairman, Yan Feldman, Brett Matthews , Greg Edmonson, Tim Minear(who wrote the most popular Firefly episode “Out of Gas” and currently has his own show in production called “Drive” for FOX) and Michael Muhney from Veronica Mars showed as a representative for Booster Events charities. Along with many people from the BuffyVerse with special thanks going to Clare Kramer and her husband for their support in opening their new restaurant just to help out. Darkhorse Comics had someone there along with a rep for Multiverse, who just acquired the rights to Build a Firefly based MMO.

This link will take you to a day to day record of all that was done. http://azuzazzyzx.livejournal.com/110768.html

What these performers did was extraordinary, truly above and beyond what they had to do or what anyone had expected and they should get lots of good publicity for going out of their way for their fans. Isn’t it about time we have some good news?

PLEASE show them a little love on your AOTS show and let people know that not all performers are stuck on stupid.

Thank you for taking the time to do this; no matter what response you get! All the BDHs in California deserve all the props they can get! They really came through!

IMO you've done a good thing Devonnite!! Don't worry about getting a response. Sometime there are folk that want to say something but are in a position where they can't. Anyhoo, you did good :)
