So I just saw the first part of the full action adaptation of Terry Pratchett Discworld novel the Hogfather. I have to say it's better than I wanted and what I wanted was better than I either expected or hoped for.

Its very true to the book, at least so far. I don't think I've seen a book adaptation that follows the book it's based on so faithfully. Plus the acting and effects are top notch, Susan is just as I imagined, as is Death. Nobby Nobbs was just perfect. In fact the only character that isn't just as I imagined (which is no mean feat) is Mr Teatime, sorry I mean Tea-ah-time-ah, who was better.

I really can't wait for the next part tomorrow, it actually makes going to work worthwhile, because I can come back and watch the Hogfather .

Did anyone else see it? What did you think?

I agree wholeheartedly with what Citizen has said. This is a first rate adaption, of course Terry was on the set and made changes to the script to keep it true to the book, and the best bit is that THEY WERE LEFT IN (something some other TV execs should try once in a while). Not only that, but the man himself did a Joss and has a part in it (to be seen tomorrow).

I recommend checking out something like Torrentspy and downloading it. It's 2 x 2 hour long parts (part 2 tonight, shiny), and I think I saw part 1 on there last night while looking for season 4 of NCIS (my non sci-fi BDH's, well, not quite, but close).

Can you please post a link to that? I would love to be able to see it. I'm keeping fingers crossed however that I would be able to download, as us here in SA can't normally download TV (something about them not accepting payment from us or some such)
And I second the NCIS sentiment. Season 2 just finished a while back and now I'm waiting for season 3. Eagerly.

First of all, you'll need to download something like bitcomet ( www.bitcomet.com) to allow you to download from torrent sites. Then go somewhere like www.torrentspy.com to actually get the torrents.

Personally I'm hoping it'll come out on DVD so I can buy it.

Alas I don't have broadband at home, and I expect I could probably get fired for downloading torrents at work. DVD would be cool...

Definitely.
And the better news is that they're thinking of doing another 8 books in the same format (according to the making of documentary they showed on saturday).

DREAMWALKER

Hopefully we will get it that soon. I love Discworld and I already have Wyrd Sisters and Soul Music. Oh well, time to read the book again at least.

Wash: This landing is gonna get pretty interesting

We're not talking about animations here, Hogfater was all live action (nothing against animations, I have Wyrd Sisters and Soul Music too, but the difference between these is like chalk and cheese).
