* 's mavs back, cuz spreadin' the love is good*

As was stated, I am a redhead man too. Enthusiastic, I like that adjective. It's probably got at least a little bit to do with my 3/4 Irish background. :)

Yeah - I think you could take them on qing ren and win!...

I tend not to think of myself as having a 'type' but if I am honest about the men I have had relationships with - or even just lusted after... my preference has always been for dark... 'tall dark and handsome' to use the cliche... though I did date a guy with grey eyes and blondish hair... he was never a candidate to be 'the one' for me so... meh...

...and I am a sucker for brown eyes...

What is it about men and redheads? I've never understood this, even though I am one. ( A redhead, that is...not a man)

(Jimi, I do understand the genetic thing, however. Being Irish myself, I take it as written in our code to procreate with other redheads so as to continue the Irish people. Or create more drinking partners. I don't know)

So you have a visual, Husband once told me my hair is the color that Cherry Coke tastes.

Men seem to be drawn to it - but not to me as a person. When I was young, it was first date fodder. (That's how I knew Husband was for me - he didn't mention my hair color for months into our relationship!)

I've even had a man(given he was very young, and very drunk) tell me exactly what he'd like to do IN my hair.

I think that is very good logic, at least for the Irish males. Maybe the others wish to intermingle with the ancestry (c'mon, who doesn't want a little Irish in them? )

Another theory is that it is because they are less prominent in everyday life, therefore associated with rare/exotic by the brain.

Hey - I did go redhead for a while - actually when I was first starting to colour my hair my hairdresser looked and said I had auburn strands in my brown tresses... but there were an increasing number of silver ones too so I opted for a reddish brown colour - the one I have now is closest to my natural colour... though I also went blonde for about 18 months... I am definitely a brunette kind of girl...

Mav - wow about the comment your husband made... cherry coke tastes like you hair looks then... so now I know... and also 'eeeeeuch!' I don't like that other comment... what a creep!

Come and talk with me in Haven Honey!!

See - you'll win for sure qing ren!!

EDIT: sorry RIMG... I meant to say that I always wanted a little Irish in me too... Hang on!!! I didn't mean it that way... oh dear... I did it again...

Everybody has a type. I have my own. It starts with blue eyes. Don't know why, but every woman I've felt the yearning for has had them. I'm a sucker for the blue-eyed girl.
Next would be natural hair. I hate it when a woman dyes or bleaches her hair. Better to be natural and honest about it. With honest hair, the choice comes down to natural red, and natural, lusterous black.
And critically, she must be small. I mean tiny. Like, five-foot-three or less. Small, blue eyed, natural hair color... And, if possible, freckles. Can't beat the freckles. I likes the freckles.

Maybe I'm too picky?

Morning, MSG! We'll see you when you get back.

I have the Irish background, but the darker coloring...unless I have been out in the sun for a long time, then the highlights show up.

The attraction? For me, it's the combination of the hair color, skin texture, usually the freckles, and always the eyes. I have not yet come across a redhead with less than stunning eyes.

Now, 5'5" brunettes that have accents...that is in a league all by itself!

And hey, I have the tall, dark, and the brown eyes!

And Mav, thanks for the desciption of the hair color...that is about the most perfect one I have heard to date!

Morning, Mircea!

Magda, again...hehehe a little Irish in you hehehe

Morning, JTD! Another eye man, eh? Have you been over to the photo threads? There are some gorgeous eyes in there.

RIMG, I have generally had bad luck with blondes. Both the ex-wives were blonde, although the last one dyed hers a reddish color.

Freckles...yeah...I like me some freckles...

I actually used to have a thing for redheads myself, until I realized that they're all rat-shit insane. No offense, Mav, but seriously, TOTALLY insane.

My tastes in women are far too similar to some other peoples on here...

Tristan, you pretty much described the EXACT same physical characteristics of a woman that I preferred for about 6 years of my life. I don't know what this whole modern thing about having tans is all about... white as snow is the way to go!

Yes, I meant for that to rhyme.

RIMG, I've felt the same way about blonds for a long time. As with you, it's not like a "disqualifying" factor or anything, I've certainly seen quite a few women with blond hair that I was attracted to, but in general I'm definitely right there with you.

In the long run I've found myself caring less and less about the specific physical characteristics, though. My idea of maturing in relation to women is to be able to appreciate individual qualities quietly and from afar. The more pondering I did on the subject, the more I came to realize that it is wholly appropriate for an aspiring warrior to hold an ideal of love and romance in his head, but just as important never to manifest or speak about it in great length.

A long standing tradition of ancient Japan was for their warriors to walk the line between a stoic exterior and a romantic soul. Japanese poetry from before the Tokugawa period is written almost exclusively by warriors and generals who had to balance their harsh way of life and high expectations of composure with expressing themselves through written words and other forms of art. This is truly the way that it should be done.

It is never necessary to achieve an ideal. A warrior recognizes that it is having the ideal in the first place, an impossible goal that will always keep him moving forward, that is important. It manifests within him determination, spirit, and most importantly, resolve. His entire fate can be summed up in the act of pursuing the impossible.

Now, as to the $50,000 question, I think I'd give part of it to Tristan so he can "find" his green-eyed, redhead. (er, how long would you be needing her as her time's kinda limited...)

Sub-ponder. Redheads in my experience come in two varieties (and for the sake of the discussion let's keep it to natural redheads). There's them what's got green to bluish eyes, and them's what got brown eyes. Each be striking, but the overall effect to me is like that of a blonde compared to a brunette. Anybody else feel like that? (I like the greens meself.)

Mircea, yes...blondes are my downfall...that's why I believe I will be steering clear of them from now on.
And congrats on finishing the shredding! Just lock the doors and don't let them bring you anymore!

CMH, morning!
I know what you mean. I really do like pale skin. More healthy as far as I am concerned.
I like the Japanese ideal. It falls closely in with the concept of Chivalric romance...and I mean the pure kind, not where they end up running off together. The mind of a warrior, the heart of a lover in the pure sense. The goal of this kind of love is not the consummation, but the simple act of being in love. Lust does not factor in, or shouldn't. And I agree with you about the ideal...sometimes merely having one is enough to keep someone going.

-EDIT-
Morning, NVG and JQ!
NVG, love the photo!
JQ, thank you for that offer! I'll see if I can find a couple of them!

That's right! I've NEVER read Harry Potter, nor seen the movies. I even stick my fingers in my ears when people start talking about it. I'm that determined to discover them with Carson.

I really gotta thank CMH for posting the duality of man thing. Its hard to explain the feeling of merely completing a task without explaination. To visualize executing the task and completing it. Its hard to explain the absence of all else but the obstacles of completing said task. The mix of joy and sadness born within the absence of everything.

Don't really know where I'm going with this. I just think its hard to explain alot of things to people who haven't been there, and see the expression of warrior poetry as the appreciation of life and the memorial of those lost. Guess thats the simplest way I can explain it.

Seein' as it was the feeling of love within being reborn around the time of the beginning of all the crap over "it" being the reason for the Phoenix on the right side of the same calf.

Side note: She Who Shall Not Be Named called asking for her sons Grandma, then a co-worker. Strangely, I don't feel much of anything.

Fitch, I will remember that when my toes are all toasty tonight!

NVG, you should be getting a package in the mail pretty soon...unless things went terribly wrong between here and there.
As for tattoos, I think I have finally broken down and decided to quit talking about it and get it done. My birthday is coming up next month, so I think it would be a good self-gift. There is already a local artist that has been recommended highly (by my new-found friend Amy...she already has several tattos by this guy) and he does good work. So, sometime next month I should have photos to show off.

LA- I'm from England, South of it. Where it is currently very very cold, but never has the decency to snow over Christmas.

At this point I'd settle for enough warmth to keep from blinking in pain when I step outside...plus of course the joy of 3 feet of snow ( though I'm likely doing better than PR who's city's been hit by a major blizzard)

I'm envious! The most snow we have these days is about half an inch, and patchy. Mind you, if we got a lot of snow every year I dare say I wouldn't enjoy it much.
It's all that climate change, that's what it is

None of you probably want to know that it's 60 here.

A: As much as he allows it to weigh.

...No...
Take all the weather! Take it! Have it!
I warn you, it will only result in ice, rain and fog though. Plus freezing wind.
